Franklin beat us to them. He's got the #22 class at Virginia Tech. Can we poach some of their recruits
I would make the case that Nebraska is already out. They have been mediocre for a quarter century now. And on top of that, they don't seem to have any path back to national relevance. They don't have a recruiting advantage, the brand doesn't hold blue blood like value with younger generations, they don't have a money or facilities advantage over their peers.Nebraska is definitely in danger of falling out if they continue on their current trajectory. That they're still in that grouping just shows how strong their historical dominance was- and is why they continue to get a massive amount of attention relative to the results they've seen the last 10 years.
Most of that is true except the facilities. They have one of the top facilities in the country.I would make the case that Nebraska is already out. They have been mediocre for a quarter century now. Last top 10 finish was 2001, 24 years ago.
They only have 7 bowl wins this century.
They recently went 7 consecutive years without a winning season.
Last time they won their division was 2012 in the pitiful B1G West.
Only had a winning conference record once in last 11 years.
Have lost 10 of 11 to ToE, including 7 straight in Lincoln.
There is a lot of ancient history to prop them up on that graph, but I would consider their status already revoked. I think the comparison to an Indiana basketball is a good one.
None left. They have 2 commits last I sawCan we poach some of their recruits
Do they? Faculties at most P4 programs who are trying are insanely good. Most of that is true except the facilities. They have one of the top facilities in the country.
Yes they do. Among the top in the P2. They are good.Do they? Faculties at most P4 programs who are trying are insanely good.

Can you find a non Nebraska source that says that? Obv facilities rankings are kinda stupid and very subjective but I have never heard them talked about on that level in the modern game. Are we sure it isn’t like most things Nebraska and it’s based off of years past?Yes they do. Among the top in the P2. They are good.
Which is hilarious and kinda proving my point because here is the same author the year before and Nebraska isn’t on his list at all. This has from 2024 but it has Nebraska in the top 10 of football facilities

College football's 30 most impressive facilities in 2024, ranked
When it comes to upgraded facilities and state-of-the-art amenities, these programs spare no expense.247sports.com
I believe the boost in ranking can be attributed to the Osborne Legacy Complex which opened in 2024.Which is hilarious and kinda proving my point because here is the same author the year before and Nebraska isn’t on his list at all.
They did a big Renovation around then.Which is hilarious and kinda proving my point because here is the same author the year before and Nebraska isn’t on his list at all.
I'd move Georgia and LSU up one tier and Nebraska and USC down in their place. The rest, outside of UCLA and Arkansas, I would agree upon.If you're talking big picture and try to reduce recency bias college football has these tiers:
1
Ohio St., Alabama, Oklahoma
2
Michigan, Notre Dame, USC, Texas, Nebraska (is moving closer to 3)
3
Penn St., Georgia, LSU, Florida, FSU, Miami, Auburn, Tennessee
4
UCLA, Clemson, Texas A&M, Washington, Michigan St., Wisconsin, Arkansas, Oregon (is moving their way in)
Now if you talk strictly the last 25 years or some other time frame it would look different.
I’ve had elite athletes (not Nebraska) tell me that Nebby’s were considered among the best by the athletes themselves. When I worked for the Iowa State Athletic Department, Nebby’s years ago had the reputation of top facilities and I’ve been told by people I trust Nebraska is among the top now.Can you find a non Nebraska source that says that? Clemson up a rung, otherwise agree with thisI'd move Georgia and LSU up one tier and Nebraska and USC down in their place. The rest, outside of UCLA and Arkansas, I would agree upon.
Bet the “No”So, what happened tonight that the betting odds on CMC to Penn St are skyrocketing?
Earlier today the odds were 5-7%
Now tonight its up to 27-30% and he is currently just behind Smith, in second.
Something must be being reported tonight that has people putting the money on him.
