*** Official IOWA STATE vs Oklahoma State Game(Day) Thread ***

A win is a win, so a good win in Stillwater!

It will be interesting to see where Cowboys FB is headed in the near futrure. They will be getting a new coach sometime soon(*) and we'll see if their recruiting picks back up. They don't have Boone Pickens backing them anymore., however. Will their fans get back on board?

(*) - New coach will be Eric Morris.

Tre Bell has had some really good plays and some very bad plays this season.
Sowell, Flora, and Becht were also hit and miss all season.
I would open the QB competition. Rocco is the #10 rated QB in the big 12.

Rocco had a couple bad games where his accuracy was bad, there is no doubt. But when you are trying to throw to receivers who can't create separation and when they do, drop the ball at a high rate, yea, the stats are going to suffer. I think it can, and should be, indisputable that he goes into next year as the starter and the only way he's not is injury, or he transfers out.

I think we're all pretty certain Rocco was concussed for a good few games this year which knocked down his ratings

Not sure why 3 people are dumbing this post. Every point made is dead on.

Then ok. We return a veteran team and he deserves to be the guy.

Incoming: posts acting like CMC and staff aren't constantly spinning plates as part of the job to prep for the transfer season and already have wheels in motion for general plans for next season.

Yay, a win is a win.
But 2 things (have and still do) bugged me. We have a few new players who pose after EVERY play, even tho they have dropped a pass before, committed a hold, committed a pass interference..... how about our culture is we execute and move on to the next play.
2nd. How did we AGAIN have a massive special teams error when we let a punt hit us again! I still recall in 8th-grade football, going over and over "Peter Peter Peter" when a punt was going to hit the ground, and there were players around it.
But, a win is a win I suppose.

1) shut the F up fun hater

2) That was 100% on Flora, he signaled fair catch and then didn't catch it/

What could possibly go wrong having the #2 and 3 QBs having no experience in the system?

Best case scenario for Rocco is that he got dinged up and it affected his mechanics and that he'll heal up in the offseason. NOT a head injury because if that's what happened, everyone needs to be fired. If the average moron on the internet was able to diagnose that and the staff didn't do anything, that's bad.

Worst case is that this staff can't develop a 4 year QB and bad habits and mechanics develop instead and get worse with time. Brock regressed and had some extremely rough moments in 2021, but I attribute a fair amount of that to the O-line which is much better now.

We're not going to bring this a notch down to acting like D1 college programs are like Class A Iowa high school are we?

I’m kinda wondering how important it would be to get a top DE. Would we give up on some other position and let some other guys go to afford one? Probably not.

I missed the first half but from what I saw, the kicking game was good, just the one bad punt return botch that at least only led to a FG.
There was another botched punt return that ISU recovered, gave up a long KR and they don’t get to take credit for the defense bailing them out on the punt fumble.
Kicking game was good, and punting was good. But overall the mistakes were pretty huge.
