Shouldn't the title be "Heacock Rumor?" It ain't news 'til it's news.
This is not good. There are several reasons Matt has stayed in Ames. One of them was this was Heacocks last stop and he was going to stick around with Coach Heacock.

The only fact that I know of to support this would be that Coach Heacock just turned 65.

If Coach Heacock decided to hang up the headset, I would have nothing but appreciation for what he helped build at Iowa State, and wish him nothing but the best.
Usually when there is this much smoke around Iowa state, it usually happens

This. There have been actual connected people speculating on this retirement since at LEAST 2022. I think he's been talked into sticking this long, it's gonna happen sooner or later, and he's earned it.
