I say no emphatically.

EDIT: I want to be clear that we’re talking about playing against Memphis in the Liberty Bowl. I don’t think most fans would have a problem with playing in the Liberty Bowl again against a different opponent, although we might prefer a different bowl this year since we were just at the Liberty Bowl two years ago.

I see on socials that JP is lobbying for Phoenix, so good sign.

If the goal is a good ISU turnout Memphis in the Liberty is the worst possible idea. Been there done that (twice), home game for UM, and a lot of fans that would go already went to Ireland and other road games like Colorado or TCU.

I won’t be traveling to a bowl so I don’t really care as much where we end up, but I could stomach another Liberty appearance if we get an SEC opponent.

So what if Memphis is the only option? I say we let the team do their part and play themselves into a different game. No reason to get too excited until we actually know if Memphis is a real option for this year.

In general feel like 100% of fans don't want to see the Cyclones play a G5 opponent in a Bowl game.

And then to play that opponent in their home town is an abomination. Whether it be Memphis or Boise.
This is the kicker. I'm not that hung up on playing a G5 opponent. I'm not that hung up on the city.

It's having to do it as a true road game that's the ****** part. That's a monster advantage for them.

He would be silly not to. Any good AD is going to pay attention to the temperature of the fan base.
If he would give any stock to what we say on these message boards, CMC, Heacock, and Mouser would have been out of a job quite a while ago.

Also, Demarion Watson would probably be starting for this years basketball team

I want a good opponent if we’re stuck in Memphis. Playing a true road game for a bowl is straight BS, and the AD/ conference should get paid extra for that type of arrangement.

There's a significant degree of difference between fan opinions about coaching decisions and whether fans would be excited about a potential bowl game match-up.

Any bowl is generally good but for interest, 1) bowls feel even more meaningless with opt outs/transfer portal stuff and 2) Liberty was really only exciting in 2017 after a 4 season bowl drought and a team that had done some historically significant things.

Hopefully if they pull off 2 more wins they move up a bit.

No problem with playing Memphis again. Just not in Memphis.
I have more of a problem with playing Memphis.

Part of the idea of bowls is that you get unique and interesting match ups. There are SEC teams that have played each other less than we've played Memphis in the Campbell era.
