YouTube TV Getting Ability to Split Into 4 Screens

Collateral damage now includes Sinclair. This is getting kinda interesting.
I’m sure the Sinclair CEO’s concerns are right at the top of Disney’s priorities list.

Edit: here is an article about the Sinclair CEO’s comments

I get why he’s upset, but I’m not sure that it’s the issue that he’s claiming it is.
They probably will the next time the carrier contract comes up for renewal.
Yeah, I can see it if the companies don’t back down. That’s probably why it hasn’t happened before.

didnt realize i already had the disney+ bundle with hulu and espn (select) so i was already lining the pockets of those dicks.

Is ESPN Select the new ESPN+? Does ESPN Select include ESPN+ games?

yes.

You need ESPN unlimited if you want to watch games on abc/espn/espn2 etc without a subscription to another service.

I haven't had ESPN for several years and haven't really needed it since they moved away from Big 10 games. Also don't have youtube tv. We do have an antennae for the local channels (with an old tivo to record things) and we pay for hulu and disney plus (young kids) each month and will rotate between other streamers when necessary.

Only sports we pay for is the redzone channel, otherwise if it's not on over the air channels we don't get it.

ESPN isn't the good guy here but neither is google. These tv providers better be careful. They've already damaged the golden goose fatally, things like this will only hasten the demise. More and more the middlemen (cable providers) are being removed and the companies making the content are selling it themselves.

No, none of the Hulu bundles include Max/ESPN/D+/Hulu together. There also isn't a Hulu Live + Max bundle

Just did the math, and if I go with Hulu Live, Disney+, ESPN Select and HBO on its own, I'd be paying about the same amount as I do for YTTV and Disney+, Hulu, HBO Max bundle (maybe $2 less) (my Max bundle right now is locked in at $19.99).

I went with bundling the ESPN ultimate with Hulu and Disney with the NFL Redzone add on. Then went with Max as a standalone because you can’t get the 4 stream Max option in the bundle. And if ISU is playing, it’ll be on several screens around the house and at my mom’s. Only question is how much Disney and Max are going to crack down on account sharing. YTTV didn’t seem to care as long as I had the 4K option with unlimited screens at home.

I wish I could find a good long distance antenna. I’m 35 miles from like every tower and every antenna I try that clams to be long distance sucks so hard

I’ve found getting the antenna above the tree line is very important. Those things tend to block signals bigly.

You would have to add the sports extra.
This is so freaking confusing! So the Sling one day pass does not include ESPNU. In other words, to watch the Miss State game on ESPNU on Monday, I'll need to do the fubo free trial?
