Big 12 TV/Kick Times - Nov. 1

Hope it’s an 11 am kick so we’re out out of our misery early. Tyson is about to go for 200
I believe Tyson will be out again for our game due to injury. At least that's what my brother (ASU grad) told me. ASU currently losing at halftime as I type this. Hoping for a 2:30 pm kick, otherwise it will be a really early morning to get ready for tailgating.

League records for the games yet to be selected:

Cincinnati (5-0) at Utah (3-2)
Texas Tech (4-1) at Kansas State (3-2)
Arizona State (3-2) at Iowa State (2-3)
West Virginia (0-5) at Houston (4-1)
Middle Florida (1-3) at Baylor (2-3)
Arizona (1-3) at Colorado (1-4)

My guess...

Cincinnati (5-0) at Utah (3-2)- 2:30 PM FOX
Texas Tech (4-1) at Kansas State (3-2)- 6 PM FS1 (move to FOX if there is no Game 7 of WS)
Arizona State (3-2) at Iowa State (2-3)- 11 AM FS1
West Virginia (0-5) at Houston (4-1)- 11 AM TBS
Middle Florida (1-3) at Baylor (2-3)- ESPN+
Arizona (1-3) at Colorado (1-4)- 9:30 PM ESPN

Cincinnati/Utah is 9:15 on ESPN, per ESPN's schedule grid.

I think Tech/KSU is now the front-runner for 2:30 Fox, and AZ/CU for a 12:00/1:00 TNT (their window is flexible). UCF/Baylor feels like an 11:00 ESPNU type of game.

That would leave ASU/ISU and WVU/HOU for the two FS1 spots -- 11:00 and 6:00.

We are gonna get bad spots the rest of the year, that’s for sure

That leaves for sure 11:00 FS1, 2:30 FOX, 6:00 FS1, and a flexible early TNT window. There's also an 11:00 ESPNU floating out there, so all 5 games are theoretically covered.
give me that tnt spot. They do a good broadcast!

With it being the only game on TNT they can play it at any time. 1 p.m. local time would have worked too, just like kickoffs were a long time ago in a different far away world.
If you have only an hour pregame show it makes no sense to have it on when other games are happening. Non traditional start times also draw terrible ratings.

Seems like a decision to help ASU body clocks

Probably want their TV window to be slightly offset from the big networks so they'll pick up some viewers if other games get boring/are at halftime

TNT actually does a Big 12 centered pregame show unlike ESPN and Fox who basically cover everybody but the Big 12. Their score ticker emphasizes the Big 12 also. Why **** on the only network that actually promotes are conference?

Since when is questioning the logic of choosing an irregular time slot shitting on the network. I want them to get the most viewership possible. Their best performing games this season have all started right at 11am. I want them to draw casual viewers as well and I don’t think starting at unorthodox times is a good way to do that

There are ten games on linear TV at 11:00 this week - ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, ESPN, FS1, ESPN2, ESPNU, CBSSN, and ACC.

Starting at 12:00 and avoiding that noise isn't a bad thing.

It ends up with the 4th quarter overlapping the 1st quarter of the 2:30 games. Which would a casual fan rather watch -- the end of a game, or the start?

Relying on people to switch channels just seems like hopeful thinking. You want them there the whole time.

The pregame show will definitely be lower viewership then if it started at 11 and that means less people starting on the game.
