When you have one game where the opposing team's QB run all over you; you've met a running QB. When every team you play make their QB look like a good running QB; your defense sucks.
Yes. Zero pass rush, zero sophistication with blitzes / stunts, predictable 3 man rush with subpar linebackers. It's not good.

What an absolute joke Notre Dame is ranked one spot behind BYU with two losses. Seeing that makes me loathe college football lol.

I agree with others that this is the perfect timing to play BYU and I like our chances. However, that greatly depends on what our injury report looks like this week. I think Konrardy is most important. But getting Hansen and others (especially Def) back is very important as well.

I think we just don’t have good enough players no matter what the scheme

This observation will probably make some people unhappy.

Last year, my impression was that Rocco had a nagging shoulder injury. One which no one officially has so much as alluded to.

Indeed, I think most of his drop in accuracy for ‘24 can be accounted for by this, the injury simply affected his throwing motion and follow through.

In fact, that Rocco played through it without complaining is impressive in and of itself.

So, here’s the thing.

I think the last two games, he’s been hurt again. The drop in performance is pretty obvious. And huge. Something has been off.

I’ll just hope the bye was enough to set him right, whatever it was.

The crowd will be pretty edgy I’d imagine, given the last month of dumb football. They will be pissed off. Good job yesterday, Utah is annoying.
Fan vibes in my groups feel a little like before the Cincy game last year.

I don't imagine the same attendance as the Cincy game, but if the game isn't going well at half I can see some people tailgating the second half.

I don't know if it is injury or just level of performormance or what. I am rooting hard for Rocco rest of the season, for him as a great person and for the success of the team.

A game looks very different when you know we are going to move and control the ball and be effiicent scoring versus the defense have to pull out stop after stop to keep us in the game while spending 35+ minutes on the field.

Rocco leads a 4 TD offense - we are in a good spot in any game. Less than that we are relying on a defense missing it's top 3 players.

Imagine pretending that you know defense better than Jon Heacock. Or Matt Campbell. Or Eli Rasheed. Or…well, the list just keeps on going, doesn’t it?

ISU next 4 games are really tough opponents. Campbell was right when he said ISU has 1 of the toughest schedules in the nation. Meanwhile, in Iowa City......

As I said in my original post. I think the defensive front 7 talent, OR the scheme needs to change next year.

If you watched Cincinnati and CU this year and think our front 7 talent is really good, then I can't help you.

Our LB and defensive line room are bottom quartile in the league. Outside of Kooper Ebel we have zero badasses right now.
