The first Black Phone is actually quite good. This one however is a piece of ****. Do not see it. I went with six friends and three of them left early they hated it so much.

well huh. I just watched Black Phone yesterday for the first time and thought it was good so I thought 2 could be good too. Thanks for the heads up.
Yeah, I stumbled across Black Phone about 15 months ago and was shocked how good it was.
Dang, the soundtrack in the previews made me want to go see it. I watched the first one at home and I liked it well enough.
The Grabber doesn’t show up for like an hour and I’m almost convinced it’s not really Hawke. Just his voice. It’s really bad.
That's the vibe I was getting from the trailers, didn't have high expectations for a sequel anyways.
It took a while to get going, but the second half of the movie was decent. It's worth it if you have any free movie passes or wait for it on streaming.
I loved Black Phone. There hasn’t been a movie like that before and everything about it was “mint”. BP2 had a lot to live up to and it didn’t, but I still liked it.
It seemed like 2 had some “Sinister” and “Nightmare on Elm St” qualities to it (great movies). Overall I liked and I’ll watch again streaming. I understand how some didn’t enjoy it!

Wife and I went last night. We both thought it was fine. I also liked the Nightmare on Elm St vibe and a little Stranger Things vibe that Gwen/Finney could battle the Grabber. I also appreciated the mom's storyline. Agree it took too long to get rolling, but I have seen much worse horror films.
It sucked. My daughter and I started to rip on it to each other (quietly) starting about 1/2 way through. A total waste.
It's funny because I had heard how good Black Phone was and I wasn't impressed at all. I wasn't planning on seeing #2
