If that is true, then release the research to the general public and show us all that they will end up losing money. Until they do, it going to keep this story in the news. They’ve done the research. I’m not sure I didn’t ask.

Not sure. I’m sure they’re making some money now.And then after that?
Probably because people are actually attending their games now, a problem we don't currently have. I do have faith in our program to make money by selling alcohol like every other alcohol selling business in history. Not sure. I’m sure they’re meeting some money now.
They’re not going to show you financials just to make you happy. It’s obvious they don’t care what we think haha.Yep, its basically been "trust me bro, this thing that every other school is doing because it makes money won't make money here because reasons"
They don't have to show all the financials, only the studies they have that show that they will lose money. Since they are a public institution, all their financial information should be available anyway. They’re not going to show you financials just to make you happy. I don't drink anyways, but it's the principle of asking people to give more and more, increasing prices, etc. while also turning down an obvious revenue stream that nearly everyone else has. Buying alcohol at sporting events isn't exactly bleeding edge technology at this point.probably unpopular but i kinda agree with JP on the slobs portion...
You guys seriously can't drink for 3 hours? really?
Completely missing the point. No one is saying they can't, they're saying "hey 6 or 7 Saturdays a year I want to have some beers while watching football at the Jack with my friends, and neat it would give ISU some additional revenue."probably unpopular but i kinda agree with JP on the slobs portion...

If stadiums or teams are losing money selling alcohol then why do so many of them sell it? Never gone to a professional sports event or a concert that did not sell alcohol, but somehow if ISU does, they will lose money or lose people that now sit in the premium seats but will switch over to regular seats.Rutgers lost money their first couple of years on alcohol. I don’t think they were the only ones either I just remember that one specifically.
I think we would make some money. They think we would lose some money. I will say it’s hard to question Pollard when it comes to financial decisions. I do know they aren’t going to sell it and then take it away. Way too much work involved to not keep it.If stadiums or teams are losing money selling alcohol then why do so many of them sell it? If the university has the data that shows they will, then release it and this whole issue would go away. Not opinion but actual data from other teams that lost premium ticket sales and bring in less after starting alcohol sales. ISU is s a public institution, so they have to release their financial statement anyway by law, so we would quickly see if they are losing money, if they are, then stop the sales. No one would have a leg to stand on if the university ends up losing money after the switch, which the finances would show.
I don’t disagree. To me it’s no different than fans wanting transparency with injuries but not really getting it even though we’re funding the program. Just my opinion.I mean, if they're going to come crying to fans about needing every dollar they can get, one pizza, 6 pack of beer, venmo, etc at a time, they can show their work as to why they think this stone, which every other school has turned, isn't worth turning.
We need the money, that should be reason enough, if teams are losing money selling alcohol than maybe they should look at the deal they signed or call around and see what other teams are doing to make money on it.I think we would make some money. Long story short if you want beer sales I totally get it but we’re not going to just do it for financial reasons.
It's also the first year doing it, it seems if teams that start sales are lower the first year, but then pick up season after season after the first one. If teams were not making money, they would stop doing it, it's really that simple, because they are. not selling it only because the fans are demanding it.![]()
$2 million in alcohol sales reported at Memorial Stadium this season
Total alcohol sales in Memorial Stadium topped $2.07 million through the first four Nebraska football home games.nebraskapublicmedia.org
When alcohol sales were approved at all university system athletic venues last fall, athletic director Troy Dannen estimated revenue could reach $3-4 million per game at Memorial Stadium.
The amount of sales so far is much lower, right around $500,000 per contest.
They think they will lose money doing it because people pay $999 a piece for Sukup. Again, I’m just relaying the message. We need the money, that should be reason enough, if teams are losing money selling alcohol than maybe they should look at the deal they signed or call around and see what other teams are doing to make money on it.
