Another Decommit Redux 10/11

The kid is from the southeast corner of Missouri. The state $EC school decided to offer.

Not a crucial loss, SDE is well stocked, we’ll find another. Move on.

Good luck to the kid.

Have to save your best spot when you have it, I get it.
But in reality they mean nothing. Its not an actual commitment until they sign. None of these kids are actually committed, they are only holding that spot until something better comes along, and that is not a commitment.

Maybe just maybe it isn’t designed for the linemen to get sacks
Imagine recruiting a prospect receiver to an offense and we said "the goal of the offense is not to get passing touchdowns."

Is that so different than recruiting defensive ends and saying "this defense is not designed to get sacks"??

If you don't think other staffs are recruiting against it, you are kidding yourself man. Look at our defensive end / outside LB talent right now. It is subpar and it's maybe mountain west level talent right now.. certainly bottom of big 12.

Another game today with ZERO sacks, no hits on QB, and very few pressures. The talent or scheme has to change like soon.

That’s what Iowa says to WR

I have never understood the point of commitments. They mean absolutely nothing. Why commit somewhere when you are not actually committed. Just wait until you are actually ready to sign or until you do or dont get the offer you want.
They commit to get the scholarship in hand, and then IF a better offer comes their way, they take it. Just like a coach that is under contract and then a better job opens up and they coach there.

These kids are under a lot of pressure with the fact that schools have a limited number of scholarships and the school they may want to go too is waiting to see if another kid they want more takes it. He doesn't want it so they go back to the other kid and even though he has committed to another school they see if he will now take the ride at his favorite school.

Said it before, but worth repeating

A verbal commitment is not a real commitment.
