*** Official #22 IOWA STATE vs Colorado Game(Day) Thread ***

The interference happened before the ball was intercepted and while the ball was in the air. No way that flag should have been picked up.
Let’s say the refs wanted to believe it was after which it clearly wasn’t, then it’s an obvious hold on the return.

I'm beginning to come around on getting rid of 3-3 to go to 4-3 instead. Part of the point of 3-3 is to fit in smaller and faster guys... Ours are not faster and it doesn't work nearly as well without speed. Might as well put the 4th DL back out there and make the backside guys jobs simpler.

Our D just doesn't seem to make the big plays needed being down this many dudes. It might be time to re-evaluate who are the best possible 11 guys to put out there now. We definitely give up big plays with such minimal pressure applied now.
I feel like all the focus this year should be on the offense and their failures. 17 against this Colorado team? Completely embarrassing. And it hasn’t just been this game.

No but the ball still has to be deemed catchable in college to be pass interference. A guy intercepted it 8 yards in front of Brahmer, so clearly not a catchable ball.

If that guy misses it, Brahmer could have made a play coming back to the ball since he was boxing the CB out. The ball was poorly thrown, but that shouldn’t negate the DPI there since all of the contact happened before the defender intercepted it.

the routes our receivers are running are absolutely horrible.....I don't know what they're doing when evaluating their offense and film, but it's clearly not working

I understand feeling frustrated on the no call in endzone but it still was a bad throw. Then is like they gave up on offense with the play calling later. Doesn't make any sense.

It almost felt like the coaching staff gave up after they picked up that flag. And they certainly gave up after Brahmer got screwed on the spot and they said, F it, let’s just run up the gut out of the shotgun on 4th and 2 at our own 20.

The 3rd and ten quarterback run might be the worse play call I have seen in 51 years of college football. I thought it was setting something up for 4th down but we punted

Yea, that was weird. Unless they were anticipating it getting 5-6 yards then working off that.

Right after you go for it from your own 19? It’s been a long time since I’ve seen such stupid coaching decisions and play calls.
I have to believe the 3rd down rush was to get it to 4th and 5 for a more maneageable try on 4th.....problem is we either tipped the play or bothched it so incredibly bad it was as disaster with Rocco showing little skill to do anything but run into a pile. Then Matt said F it. how about coaching better earlier in the game and preparing better. The 3 man rush must be scuttled. I thought we had some moments of blitzing. Rocco and staff should work in the other qb some....just as part of long term strategy....a weakness with this staff
