*** Official #22 IOWA STATE vs Colorado Game(Day) Thread ***

Wow is this dumb. I'll stock with ISU until Campbell decides to leave. Then I'm probably done with the whole disgusting world of "college" sports.
Play call on 4th and 1 and then 3rd and 10 tells me everything about this coaching staff - highly incompetent. He’s a decade in and still doing so much dumb ass ****

I'm beginning to come around on getting rid of 3-3 to go to 4-3 instead. Part of the point of 3-3 is to fit in smaller and faster guys... Ours are not faster and it doesn't work nearly as well without speed. Might as well put the 4th DL back out there and make the backside guys jobs simpler.

Our D just doesn't seem to make the big plays needed being down this many dudes. It might be time to re-evaluate who are the best possible 11 guys to put out there now. We definitely give up big plays with such minimal pressure applied now.

I mean, as bad as the defense looked in moments, despite being gutted by injuries and being put in some awful positions by our kicking situation and offense they held Colorado below their season average.

The offense deserves the vast majority of blame for this loss

-Penalties kill a promising start

-Dropped passes right and left at the worst times

-A complete defensive breakdown allows a 70-yard TD

-Officials hand Colorado a gift red-zone turnover when the intended receiver was tackled in the end zone

-Truly head-scratching play calling after that crucial turnover

As someone who’s followed Iowa State football for a long time, this brings back memories

And of course I completely forgot to mention the stupid unsportsmanlike penalty that gave Colorado a short field for their go-ahead TD drive. With all the debris from the disastrous second half, I forgot that very short period where Iowa State led the game in the third quarter.

Colorado got two TDs in the second half, and both were aided by the Cyclones: the defensive brain fart on the opening TD bomb, and the penalty for jawing that got the Buffaloes started at midfield on their drive to take the lead.

No but the ball still has to be deemed catchable in college to be pass interference. A guy intercepted it 8 yards in front of Brahmer, so clearly not a catchable ball.
The fact that the defender caught the ball, deems it a catchable ball. It doesn’t have to be the targeted wide receiver. The receiver was being held.

4-2-5 would be better. Our LBs flat out suck.
