Hope he's ok, my thoughts are with him.
Campbell is #8 in the conference in pay, must be nice to have the money some of these other schools do. Coaches salaries like a lot of things today is completely out of hand.

So Iowa State is getting a great buy. Campbell seems quite happy with his current situation, including monetary, facilities, and family life. Heck, he's been advocating for any pay raises to be directed to his staff instead of him

I would think in the NIL world coaching salaries will stop increasing at the exponential rate they have been. Need money to pay players now.
Campbell is 8th in the big 12 but also making about the same as #7 kleiman
Ahead of him youve got Leipold, at about 6mil, then you've got gundy and whittingham who had/have extremely long tenures where they're at and have won conference titles.
Then you've got Sonny Dykes and Dillingham about 7mil each who have playoff appearances (and a conference title for dillingham) under their belt, and topped out by deion who seems pretty overpaid for what he's actually done but they wanted a flashy hire.
Id say Campbell is a little under market for what he's accomplished, but not massively given he doesn't have the playoff appearance or a big 12 title yet. He could probably negotiate getting into that 6-7 mil range but also probably knows that would come at the expense of NIL

Campbell is a godsend and I'm thrilled he's in Ames.
None of the homes west of Gilbert where they live are mansions or anything like it. Looking at Zillow, most homes in that area start around $700K and up. It's a really quiet area, very little traffic since it's four or five miles out of town and the only people out there live in the subdivision.
Matt is a smart guy. He has his priorities and top money clearly isn't one of them. Besides 4 mil in Ames Iowa is like feudal lord money.
He’s under paid and we should be ******* grateful that he puts the program and his family first. Thankfully, for us, the man walks the talk.
