Luke Combs at JTS

During the Strait concert the sales on the field looked to be a real struggle.
People behind the beer table were hold their ipads/point of sales in the air to get connectivity for transactions to go thru.

I don't know if it was like that on the concourse or not.
Sounds like me trying to get scores during TV timeouts in the stands

Right!

The people that say "but there are only games 6-7 times" as a way to say CyTown is going to fail, forget how many more events can go there.

Things that do or can go on in that area:
  • Football games
  • MBB games
  • WBB games
  • VB games
  • Wrestling meets
  • Gymnastics meets
  • Graduations
  • Huge concerts in JTS
  • Concerts in Hilton
  • Concerts in Stephens
  • Other Shows and performances in Stephens
  • Music and shows in the new Bandshell and other live entertainment options.
  • Special Olympics
  • High School State Basketball tourney
  • Other events like Car shows, RV shows, Farmers and Flea markets, etc utilizing the large open area.
  • Conventions utilizing the area and new Hotel.
  • etc etc etc Serious if they get someone in there managing the area you could do a ton of things to draw in people with events.
Then you could also utilize the RV village for said events and make even more money from people camping etc during these events. RV lots make huge money for things like above all over the place. Which would also mean more people staying in the direct area during events.
This will be a big one. We just need to get the Girls tournament too.

Based on the venues/locations of his last few tours this would be a huge get for Ames and central Iowa in general. Seems like he's pretty much been doing major city/venues for a while. Its crazy to think of how many great performers have played Ames(especially Hilton). I always loved looking at old concert t-shirts with the venues/dates on the back and seeing Ames on them. Isn't a Van Halen concert the record for people in Hilton? Id think Morgan Wallen would be an even bigger get.

One of them choked on someone else's vomit.
Bon Scott lead singer passed out in the back of a car. It was said he choked to death on his own vomit. But cause of death was acute alcohol poisoning.

Malcolm Young passed away after the onset of dementia.

I like these outdoor concerts because I can ride my bike over and listen from outside. Does Luke Combs sell out stadiums? I'm not sure I know a Luke Combs song outside of his cover of Fast Car.
And that’s not even “his” song.

I tend to like his non-chart toppers the most. “Without you” is one of my all time favorite songs.

I honestly didn't know much about him until about a year ago. My girl would listen to him constantly(in the house, car,.) so I slowly got into him. I like the fact he writes his own songs too. He appeals to fans of several types of music. "Thought you should know" is one of my favorite songs. That song reminds me of my own personal experience.

Wife and I are still pissed, in 2017 his first single had just become a hit and he was starting to get some buzz. Wooly's in downtown announced he was coming, we lucked out into buying tickets before it sold out. This was going to be absolutely nuts to watch him play at Wooly's. A month before the show the promoter moved it to 7 Flags Event Center or whatever it is called now to sell more tickets. That place is one of the worst concert venues in the area. We sold our tickets immediately. That Wooly's show would have been unreal.

Luke has 35 songs with over 100,000,000 listens on Spotify each. Two of those are over a billion. And he wrote most of those 35. He's an absolute superstar and has been for 5+ years or so. He'll pack the house, and I bet tickets on the secondhand market go for more than they did when George was in town.
