I thought this deserves its own thread. Schedule below. Lineups haven’t been released yet, but that won’t stop me from speculating. What are some of the matchups you’re interested in? Below are a few of my likely highlights.

125 - this will be our first time seeing Steve-O and also see where Blue Chip recruit Castillo is at.

133 - we’ll see how Frost looks early season close to weight. Also, assuming Meza is here this will not be a gimme for him. Grice as well has shown a lot of potential.

Where will Paniro be wrestling off? He’ll make things interesting at whatever weight he goes. 49 against Frost or 57 against Zerban. This will probably be the best matchup.

Paniro is the most intriguing at this point for me. As we all know, his defense is his strength, but he’s going to have to open up against either Frost or Zerban to win, and that is exactly what he needs to get to the next level.

165 is interesting to me. Is Euton fully healthy and the man or is Riggins picking up where he left off last year and improved enough to win the spot outright? Riggins has gotten considerably better since he’s been here. I’m curious if he’s gotten better since the end of the year.

Really excited for the wrestling offs at 133, 149, and 165.
Is Euton 100% yet?

I actually think Zerban is an interesting style matchup where Paniro might have the upper hand. Zerban likes to make things funky. Paniro could cause problems because he doesn’t engage a lot, but when he does will finish quickly.

i feel like zerbans got the cardio and grit to make a 3rd period real tough for paniro while also having the size and height advantage

Yeah. If feels like Paniro has never been great at finishing vs any kind of length. At least never consistently.

I am also most looking forward to 133, 149 and 165.

I would have been interested in 184 but Bartelt getting hurt makes that one less intriguing for me(though I will be watching to see how Naak looks). Also intrigued to see Kane Naak at 157.

What % of the time in the Dresser era has the guy who wins wrestle off in October been the guy to wrestle in the post season?

I think this number might be surprisingly low.

I love the hype of wrestle offs, but hate how many season ending injuries have occurred at this event in past years that have screwed the team up.

Wrestle offs happen no matter whether they are publicized like this or not. So the fact there is an event around it does nothing to increase chance of injury. Any injury could just as easlier happen during a wrestle off in the room with no one else watching.

What would be surprisingly low for you? I would think even if you're counting injuries (which I wouldn't) it would still be pretty high.
