I think the difference between the SEC and and B10 is the SEC still has 4 undefeated teams at halfway through the season, and the teams with 1 loss are still the cream of the crop (Bama, UGA, LSU, Tennessee).
Even when they start beating each other up, all of those teams can still afford at least one more loss and many can afford 2 in their next 6/7 games.
The B10 only has 3 undefeated teams currently, and the way the schedule is laying out most of these 1-losses B10 teams will knock each other out. The likes of Illinois, Washington, Nebraska, Maryland, etc. can’t really afford another loss like 1-loss SEC teams Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, LSU can.
