*** @ Cincinnati Pregame Thread ***

It’s still possible he plays but usually if someone is going to test things out in warmups, they’re cleared but not fully ready yet.
While true, they are playing Iowa State. Therefore he will wake up tomorrow 100% and will be playing.

Been keeping an eye on the ticket market for next home game. Are there a bunch of Mormons gonna be in attendance? The secondary market is higher than it was for the whiteout and it’s nearly sold out already.
Yes, BYU has one of the biggest and most passionate fanbases in the country. There will be plenty of blue in the crowd. I kinda respect it. They are loud.

The spread is right about where it should be. If Orange is out Cincinnati probably should and likely would be favored. The score last season wasn’t indicative of the fits Sorsby gave Iowa State. ISU will probably have a similar gameplan to yesterday, try to make Sorsby a passer and decision maker. I think he’s a little better than Fifita though
Yeah, I just rewatched last year's game again. Sorsby tore up the ISU defense with his legs to the tune of almost 150 yards. Part of that was their RB, Kiner, tearing it up. He was a very physical runner who garnered a lot of attention. Thank God Kiner is gone. But Sorsby can be an effective runner. Through the air he will likely get more than the around 66 yards he got against the ISU pass defense last year.

What’s amusing to me is how so many fans suddenly seem to think that Sowell is our only big play receiver.

Just wait until Townsend, Eskilldsen and Overby have their real breakout games.

Agreed. Cincy better not be counting out those 3 when Sowel gets a breather, or they'll find out that we actually have a lot of quality WRs.

Of all of these guys, I'm looking for X to have a game tomorrow. Cincy plays their corners off the line. Get X in space and let him go to work.

The BYU fans repped in KC last March at the BB tournament pretty well..... but they only talked amongst themselves. They were not overly social talking to fans of the other teams. KC has a decent amount of mormons living there.

I actually thought about that when Williams and Blum were going over Cincinnati’s skill guys, I was like, Wait, I do think they had a nasty RB last season. Also, it goes without saying that Iowa State did NOT have the horses at LB at that point to stop a good rushing attack. But I watched Cincinnati play Nebraska this season and they will stress your DL and LBs all game. Sorsby is a fine thrower but they know what their bread and butter is

FWIW, at this point Cincinnati probably just assumes they’re going to give up a lot of passing yards all season, and will focus on red zone defense and attacking offenses other ways. But I love how many pass catching threats Iowa State has, yes

Hit the hot hand now and free up the next man after.

We're halfway through the season already, it's time to start playing to potential.

Must be their religious views that allow them to only watch tv very selectively and in tight moderation.

Because BYU football TV ratings are sinfully low.

Im sure that by thursday the excitement i am feeling about this game will turn to anxiety, but i cant wait to watch this offense be turned loose specifically the passing game.

Those of you that gamble and dont reside in the state of iowa, what is rocco's passing yards over/under for this game?
Driving to the game. Illinois is one of those states. Here ya go.

It seems the juiced odds are 231 yards for Rocco

I actually think this will be are most difficult game/matchup yet. Cincy can be a sneaky difficult place to play.

If we leave Cincy with a win I will be very happy since I had ISU going 9-3 with losses @Cincy, @TCU, & KU.
We could surely lose, but we've won at Kinnick, Gaylord, Snyder, DKR, etc. Not worried about it too much.

Hope we win so that we don't hear our podcasts and forum blaming losing our corners for the loss. If we are a team playing for the conference championship or playoff, we should be two deep at all positions except QB and kicker.
ISU was two deep at corner. However, you do realize if you are two deep at corner and you lose both starters you are bringing in someone outside the two deep every time you sub? It is an issue when you have to give someone a breather - it is a big issue if one of the new starters gets dinged up.
