*** @ Cincinnati Pregame Thread ***

More people just making **** up on the internet. From what I can tell, they've only played two ranked teams at home in the last 3+ years. 0-2 in those games.

2022 - vs. Tulane (L) 27-24
2023 - vs. Oklahoma (L) 20-6

Last 3+ years they are 11-10 at Nippert.

2022 - 5-1
2023 - 1-6
2024 - 3-3
2025 YTD - 2-0

The place with be on fire for sure, but it is not like it's got some track record of being a moster home field. Lots of people still thinking about the Fickell years in the AAC.

We could lose.

But, my god, reading this thread you’d think we had 2 wins and looked bad in all of our games.

Based on our fans reactions, I’d expect this board to be downright giddy if we only lose by 10.
Gotta keep expectations as low as possible!

Any one have one of these? Gonna pick one up for $31 at Menards for the last 3 home games. Do they work good enough?
They work fine. My dad picked one up out here in CO when he and my Mom came out to see UNI get whipped at Air Force a few years ago. He left it with me and we use it pretty often when we need to take a grill with us for something.

If Sowell can continue last week, it would be huge for the offence. You can't cover a guy like Sowell, our TEs, other WR, and stop the run.

I expect to see a pretty unchanged defensive game plan, except worse against the pass. I expect to get frustrated by long drives in which Sorsby runs on 3rd and long for the first down.

infuriating but sadly is a given with our D

Agree. Our WR are getting a lot of one-on-ones as they're trying to take away the tight ends. We need to make teams pay for defending that way.

Let's just forfeit, stay home and get ready for Colorado. Why play a game you can't win?? ;)
Actually, all the predictions of us losing is great because more people will tune in to see a ranked team get beat rather than watch Michigan win by 3 touchdowns.

Hoping ISU does to Cincinnati is the same as what the Vikings did against Cincinnati a couple weeks ago.

Been keeping an eye on the ticket market for next home game. Are there a bunch of Mormons gonna be in attendance? The secondary market is higher than it was for the whiteout and it’s nearly sold out already.

Wouldn't surprise me. They travel well. And after talking to any number of them in Provo, it seems like they want to visit Ames.

What’s amusing to me is how so many fans suddenly seem to think that Sowell is our only big play receiver.

Just wait until Townsend, Eskilldsen and Overby have their real breakout games.

It’s still possible he plays but usually if someone is going to test things out in warmups, they’re cleared but not fully ready yet.
In ISU's case, he's 100% and will wreak havoc on our O-line.

Watching the highlights from last year. Sorsby absolutely killed us on the QB Draw / QB option out wide. Hopefully we’re better adjusted this year but that has always seem to be a weakness in our defense. Kansas killed us last year with the QB option as well
I would say not playing our 4th string linebackers when we play them this year will help with that a lot.
