Randy Peterson just dropped his latest column.

Through four weeks, he’s calling Texas Tech the Big 12’s best team right now — with Iowa State, Utah and BYU right behind them. He breaks down why the Red Raiders’ win over Utah was so impressive, where the Cyclones fit into the mix, and what it could all mean for the league’s playoff hopes.

That Utah TT game was one ugly game. Boatload of turnovers and TT is extremely undisciplined. They had 10 penalties in the first half.

Peterson is reporting the truth, TT is loaded with talent. I’m not for sure about Utah though. They crashed last year after being promoted by the sports media as the next Texas/Oklahoma in the Big 12. I also think Willingham gets media love based on success in the PAC 12. Not much mention about TCU either. That will be a tough roadie for ISU.

Its TT, TCU and ISU, Utah has beaten no one, the win versus UCLA is not looking to great right now, much like our win against KSU. ISU at TCU could be a play in game, since neither team plays TT.

If you ranked from scratch today without preseason starting points probably tech first, TCU second and ISU third.

If ISU is unbeaten and wins @ TCU I’d have no problem making them #1 even if tech is unbeaten too. TCU is drastically more dangerous than Utah at skill positions.

At least we can say we "broke" K-State; UCLA was broken before the season even started.

Yeah, I think that game told us more about Utah than TT. They haven’t backed up their hype since entering the Big 12. Tech is definitely a contender though

Dampier looked awful. Really bad touch on deep balls and his fundamentals are terrible. Throwing off his back foot and in general not setting his feet more often than not.

Well, for the amount of money they dropped on this team, they ought to be top-10 good.
