ISU unranked in AP poll

Koki Riley is a joke.

Just some of his stupid changes.

Drops ISU from 18 to 24 after winning on the road.
Drops Notre Dame from 8 to 10 after losing at home.
TCU goes from unranked to 22 after beating a FCS team.
Tennessee go up from 22 to 16 after losing at home.

All of those have an argument of being the dumbest...

ISU benefited from Poll inertia this week.
Ranked 14th and played like the 41st ranked team.
Apparently, nobody noticed.
Everybody just sees the W and 4-0.
Move those Cyclones up a notch or two.
Checks out!
Let's Go State!

Meh, I also think rational voters look at that game and see the big picture too. LOL we are one of like 3 teams that are playing that type of road game...

Shouldn’t they kinda look at the whole body of work at this point? Going off one game can cause wild gyrations

I think you could have argued that we should have moved up a few more spots last week.

Yeah and would be countered by this week taking a hit. Rankings are dumb until after about week 6 because no one knows much honestly but we are stuck with them I guess.

I don't think they've demonstrated that they are the 12th best team, but the rankings don't matter enough to bother. Hopefully in spite of that the entire team is pissed that they damn near lost saturday. They have 2 weeks to get shiz together and start to prove they belong in the conversation. Everything still in front of them which is awesome.

Living here it seems they're happiest when they are running up the score on small schools

I lived in central Nebraska 5 years as a teen (in the 90s when they were elite) before moving back to Iowa. The absolute bloodlust their fans had when up by 30+ was super pathetic and I felt sorry for them as people. Went to a lot of games and saw it in person because my best friend’s family had block of four season tickets.

So , how many teams jump ISU tomorrow in the poll. I'm going with 2-3.
Two, Ole Miss and Tenn. Indiana will be pushing us and only be a couple of points behind. Illinois slides below us, so ISU will be #13, Indiana #14.

#9 Illinois was routed so we will jump them. I think it is likely get jumped by #13 Ole Miss. Possible we get jumped by Texas Tech and Indiana as well. 95% chance we are #12 or #13 tomorrow. 5% chance we fall to #14.

I dont think a 1 loss Tenn jumps undefeated Iowa State. Tenn played a no one this week.

I think Tech might jump us, they are getting a lot of love after their performance today. Ole Miss will move past us, Illinois will fall below us, and Indiana & Tennessee will be close but probably still behind.

Lots of opportunity for movement next week too.

Indiana @ Iowa
Ole Miss vs LSU
Tech @ Houston (sneaky)
Texas @ Florida (sneaky)
A&M vs Auburn
