Yea, that was a half baked duck under attempt that put Valiev into the lead, when he didn’t need it.
Valiev gets it done with three takedowns in the final 40 seconds against Sidakov - Carr is still in the running for a medal!!
A match we all want to see, Sidakov vs DC! Let’s go David get it done tomorrow!
They called a singlet pull on Kaz. They went to review it and said no singlet pull and took the point away from Jax. Jax went from winning on criteria to losing by a point. They threw a yolo challenge looking for something - a flee/singlet pull/anything, and got nothing.
Uguev just ripped through the 61kg bracket hardly challenged. I think Spencer Lee might be cutting more than people think. He’s built a lot like Uguev. I wonder if he goes up to 61kg for a year or two. I highly doubt it, but I think it would benefit him not staying sucked down until 2028.
I’m with you be good for him to not go through the cut let the body have a break and rebuild then make a run at 28 back down
For those who watched, did David mess up at the end? Refs not great? Thoughts? I didn't see the match.
I didn’t think he needed to take that shot - all Valiev does is counter or mostly anyway. Also thought he could have had the 4 earlier .
Wrestled great the first period, absolutely perfect. Then he pressed the action when he didn’t need to late in the match. Valiev wasn’t creating any offense at all and he’s an excellent counter wrestler - very freestyle savvy. David played right into him and gave the match away
