Cyhawk postgame thread

Iowa’s O-Line is good but idk about #1 in the Big 10 good. Top 5 no doubt. I also think our DL did a great job and honestly, looked right on par with Iowa’s OL. They really worked our DL 1 drive and that’s it, maybe 2 so I’ll give them half a drive there. Other than that our dudes looked stout

I'll hold on to think Iowa's pretty good and will have a decent season.

The 'Iowa just sucks' thing is kind of like 'overrated' chants.

ISU is better and things like the very last Iowa series show it out but it wasn't like they were going to win 40-10 even if they connect on some throws etc.

Gronowski wasn't bad, best part of their offense I thought.
Kirk just needs to adjust to the Tim Tebow type of offense the rest of the year. If the guy gets hurt and the backup comes in change it. Thing is Kirk NEVER changes anything lol.

This! I never understood the overrated chants.. essentially de-valuing a win..

8 wins? I think that's their max.

Yeah, I do think 8 wins is most likely. With 9 wins and 7 wins being almost as likely. 6 is not out of the cards, but 10 would mean a major upset.

I will be so torn on the last game on who I want to win. A tie would be great if it keeps both out of a bowl game.

the only definite losses on their schedule are Penn State and Oregon. Those elite teams are too good to be dragged into slogfests Iowa forces you in. All the other teams will fall into the trap giving Iowa a chance to pull out some wins

For years the difference in this game was the squawks had the better O and D lines, this year it was a push at best. Neither team could dominate in the trenches and ISU used that to get another win. The squawk skilled position are bad, they do not have a TE or WR that would start at ISU, their RBs which they believed were better than ISU turned out not to be true.

They are going to struggle getting to 6 or 7 wins, you have them beating every equal game, forgetting that free rents loses one game a year that they should win. They suck going to the west coast, so the USC game is a loss, Nebraska will be a difficult road game for them. They lost their best TE for the season in our game, their WRs scare no one and as long as they continue to get poor play from the QB, they are going to struggle to get to .500

Giving Kirk a W for flying out to LA and playing in the Pacific Time Zone is a bold move. The Hawkeyes never play well out west.

Minnesota and Nebraska might be toss-ups, as well.

You're crazy if you think they are going out to LA and winning @ USC.

Three nailed on losses with Penn State, Oregon and USC in my opinion and lots of toss up games in here. They are going to underdogs against Indiana and @ Nebraska almost certainly, @ Wisconsin/@ Rutgers/Minnesota are going to be roughly even spreads. Only UMass and Michigan State as certain favorites at this stage.

I think they probably still figure out 7 or maybe 8 wins if the offense improves, but 6 wins is FAR more probable than reaching 9 wins IMO. If the offense can't figure it out and it snowballs, 4-5 wins is the floor not 6.

Agree they lose on the west coast. I'm not trusting Indiana 100% to win. Kirk's hatred of Minnesota should carry him to victory. I'll go out on a limb and say Nebraska finally gets it done. Wisconsin wants to win (doing 42 push ups in practice) but I don't think it happens.

4 road wins is aggressive.

Gotta respectfully disagree. Five wins tops. No bowl game, lots of angry Hok “fans” demanding change and melting down over Cyclone success. It’s going to be a lot of fun. We may be witnessing the end of Hok football success similar to what happened to Nebraska. Unlike the Nebraska fans, Hok fans will desert this program in droves.
