I mean, I get what you’re saying. However they are still going to have 5 junior medalists from this team in their room. No other school has more than one guy on the team and studs like Lockett and Knox didn’t even medal. Should say something about how far ahead they still areNot senior Worlds but at junior Worlds/U20's, guys from Oregon State and Lehigh just won World titles. A kid from high school also won a world title. 3 guys from penn state got bronze, bronze, silver. Penn state has 1 more to go in the finals and he should finally get them a gold.
Penn state will claim the high schooler as a gold medalist though, but he hasn't trained there until just recently and hasnt put on a penn state singlet yet. Oklahoma state and Cornell come home empty handed with 1 guy each. Minnesota has 1 go to go in the finals as well.
In all, penn state will come away with 1 world champ to their resume. The same as Oregon State, Lehigh, and hopefully Minnesota. Good for the schools not named penn state and oklahoma state to get their guys on top of the world for team USA. Always cheering for team USA but love seeing these other colleges have some success in all of this.
My main point was the “you have to come here to win” is a load of crap. Good job by Lehigh and Oregon state developing guys into world championsI mean, I get what you’re saying. Looks like Ian Parker came down from UNI for a workout and David must leave to camp soon. Anyone know who Carr is bringing with to worlds?
Valiev and Kuramagomedov on top, Salkazanov and Emami on bottom.Carr is definitely one of the favorites to medal and could win gold. The draw is going to matter big time for him. He is unseeded along with Sidakov and Takahashi who beat him not too long ago. They are 3 of the 4 favorites at the weight. If he gets put into a quarter with some of the other favorites, it could get ugly.
We’re going to have to wait until brackets come out to have more information about his path.
Yeah very very tough draw. Sidakov after having to beat Ramazanov and then Valiev all just to make the finals. If Valiev beats Carr and Sidakov, Carr could get Sidakov for bronze - ouch. Let’s see what happens, go DC go get that Gold!Carr’s bracket is out. He’d have Ramazanov who is a top 10 guy and previous world bronze in round 2. Then he’d get Valiev in the quarters. The winner of that match gets Sidakov in the semis. So, if Carr would lose to Valiev, there is a good chance he wouldn’t get to wrestle back for a medal

Yep, Carr is going to have to beat 1 of Valiev or Sidakov to medal. Would have much rather been on the other side, but excited to see what DC can do!USA got some brutal draws, but that’s what happens when you get drawn in at most weights.
Very true but in David’s case he’s going to have to beat the best 3 guys to win Gold: Valiev, Sidakov, then the finalist from the other side.Have to beat the best to be the best. Let's go David!
