There was a brewery out of Soldiers Grove called Driftless Brewery. They had a beer called Dirt. Oh, man, that was good. Unfortunately Driftless is no more.

I agree with this … no idea why I bought it in cans yesterday. As a long time Yuengling drinker I find the taste out of the bottles to be soooooo much better.
My answer is cause it was right there in cans and I was too lazy to drive around hunting for bottles.I agree with this … no idea why I bought it in cans yesterday.
I don't know why that is too. I know I like Coors a lot more out of the can.I agree with this … no idea why I bought it in cans yesterday.

Hyvee is cheaper than Fareway.Fareway not helping their cause either.
These prices are also high for 12 packs of Yuengling.

Whoa, Black and Tan!

The Traditional Lager. It's got a bit of an Amber hue to it.What is the flagship Yuengling beer, the one that everyone used to gravitate to when traveling east? Was there one, or did people just trend to drink the style they liked? I always assumed it was Yuengling Lager in the green bottles, but open to hearing other opinions
It's not a perfect match for Draft, because everyone may have a little different setting on their CO2. But when I have cans (even bottles a lot of times) at home I always pour it into a chilled glass. Not necessarily "Frosty" from the freezer (I do that for most light beers), but Fridge temp. It makes a huge difference for me in the enjoyment of drinking a beer. Your nose gets more of it and helps with the flavor, imo, compared to drinking out of the small opening in a can or bottle. Not seeing the resemblance to MGD light. Yuengling is darker, maltier, higher ABV, higher IBU, and 150 calories vs about 110 for MGD Light. It seems closer to Michelob Amberbock than it does to MGD.
fwiw, I like Yuengling when I can get it on draft. Seems different out of a can, but that could have been due to the long haul it took to reach me in Iowa when I had it (prior to their distribution here).
If you like spotted cow, sam adams original, or exile ruthie, you might like Yuengling. I personally classify all those as fall/winter/spring lagers. Too heavy for a hot summer day

FYI, I just found an outstanding hoppy pilsner from Dimensional in Dubuque. It’s called Kia Ora and has a light bitterness with some earthy dank notes.I love hoppy pilsners. Or there are a couple oak aged ones that Modist (Minneapolis brewery) does that I really enjoy
