I don’t think so. It’s a TCL with built in Roku. Looked like crap on YoutubeTV but was perfect on the ESPN app.
Sorry if you already answered this but what router are you using and is your TV running off of wifi or Ethernet? Maybe the amount of data/buffering YTTV is demanding when streaming live games, might be too much for your router to process quickly? Maybe the ESPN app demands less data/processing power for the router?

I have heard a lot of instances of a stand-alone device solving problems.

I have the following set-up and have NEVER had a YTTV, Netflix, Disney+, ESPN+, Amazon Video, Hulu, HBO, FRNDLY TV issue. Also provides great coverage and decent speed for two millennials currently in WFH

Modem: ARRIS - SURFboard 32 x 8 DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem - $90
Router: Google - Nest Wifi AC2200 Mesh System Router and 2 Add-On Points (3-Pack) - $300
Internet - Mediacom 100MB (test speed is around 70... getting google Fiber soon) - $69/month
Streaming Platform - Roku Ultra via HDMI - $90

I have this exact same set-up except I use a 4k firestick. All of my problems were solved when I moved to the Google Nest Mesh system. It's amazing how little drop off there is in speed. It's not a cheap set-up but it's definitely worth it.

A mesh network is a game changer! I just set up my parents (boomers with ok IT skills) on a mesh network and they make a comment all the time about how much better their speed and connection is
