Patterson will probably write a song about itNo, the only power he has right now is that he is trying to delay the signing of the release and he says he is "negotiating" with Gary Patterson. But he has no negotiating power because it has to be signed eventually and there is nothing he can do to stop it. I would love to hear what Patterson is thinking about this.
He would be a take for us - although not a position of need on the depth chart.
I was hoping to get a grad transfer at DT but I suppose we have some good young guns developing there: Singleton, Isiah Lee seems capable already and incoming Howard.
My biggest question on the team this year is who will be the robin to Xavier Hutchinson's batman? We need a second receiver to emerge and that was lacking last year. Somewhat of a nightmare year for Tarique Milton
I think the Isheem Young connection may help us a bit.Is there anyway we land this guy?
I hope your right! I personally don't think it will happen bc Smith wants to play right away and be the star in the secondary. I feel the safety position is probably where we have to most depth. Chambers and McDonald are the future of the secondary. Both are big, fast and athletic. Beau Freyler is probably going to be a starter after his redshirt year. Imo.I think the Isheem Young connection may help us a bit.
Smith will start wherever he goes. Including here, before he and Eisworth (and Isheem Young) are off to the NFL next year.I hope your right! I admittedly don't know much about Smith. I have this vision of where are secondary will be in the future. It could be wishful thinking mind you. I would love to see a big physical secondary that instills fear on the opposition. Chambers is 6"3 so is McDonald. Beau Freyler is listed at 6"2 but he's pushing 220lbs and lays a boom. Again, that's my vision.Smith will start wherever he goes. Including here, before he and Eisworth (and Isheem Young) are off to the NFL next year.
3rd Team AP All American, 2nd Team FWAA All American, I assume he’s looking for a chance to play one a really good team. We have that here.
If we would pick him up, would a current understudy be thinking about transfer portal themselves
He is friends with Young, and Amos. While also having a coaching connection on the staff. I say if there is mutual interest he will 100% be a Cyclone. Is there anyway we land this guy?
We go from having one of the best secondaries in the conference to having a top secondary in the nation by adding him.. You take him lol.I'd love to have him but it's getting really crowded in that backfield. I think I prefer getting Chambers and McDonald more experience.
Ya I think we already are the best secondary in the nation. Chambers is a star. If we lose a younger player, it's going to hurt.We go from having one of the best secondaries in the conference to having a top secondary in the nation by adding him.. You take him lol.
You’d be crazy to turn away an all American, regardless of how solid our secondary is. Iron sharpens iron. The younger guys will still get plenty of playing time if Smith is a cycloneI'd love to have him but it's getting really crowded in that backfield. They will be the 2nd unit regardless if Smith comes or not.I'd love to have him but it's getting really crowded in that backfield. I think I prefer getting Chambers and McDonald more experience.
Amos will slide to corner if we get smith. The younger guys will still be part of the 2nd unit.Ya I think we already are the best secondary in the nation. Chambers is a star. If we lose a younger player, it's going to hurt.
