I'd recommend reading a bit more on the subject.

I'll just leave it as I disagree (and it's incorrect) and the lack of people understanding or aknowledging that bias exists is what creates many of the situations we have today.

Ill recommend you quit being racist. I'm not but it sounds like you are admitting to being a racist.

Elaborate?

I mean, your feelings are hurt cause someone called you ******** and said if you don't want to get maced, don't go to a riot? People are going to say a lot worse things to you than that in your lifetime. I just think we've gotten too soft as a society, almost to the point where if something doesn't upset us, we go and look for something to upset us, even if we have to make a big leap in logic or deliberately misinterpret something to find it.

Argent doesn't understand how these KKK rallies that he attends would suggest that he has any racial animus whatsoever?

See now that seems like an insult and bias that is worse than what the D-coord did in calling the person "dumb". But I'll let it slide because I've been called worse.

I have lots of biases. One would be against anyone who supports Communists. Another would be people with face tattoos. Doesn't mean I couldn't get to know or like a person but they will be starting in a bit of a hole because of my bias. You can't be completely unbiased. It's not possible.

Many if not most people are racist even if they don't think so or don't directly treat others poorly or in derogatory manner, or even if they don't think they treat people differently.

.

So people who don't treat people differently, don't treat others poorly or in a derogatory manner are .... RACIST? Am I reading that correctly?

I've heard this take before and I've never fully understood it.

Yes, actions stem from thought. Every action starts with a thought-- not just the racist ones.

The point is we are concerned with the actions. It's moot to discuss what thoughts people have.

I saw a cute girl and thought about having sex with her but didn't know her age. Guess I'm a rapist/pedophile now even though I'd never act on a random thought that pops into my head. He should trademark "unconscious thought racism"...

Lots of virtue signaling here. I'm ashamed to be with such perfection.

Coaches are learning quickly that our culture has changed dramatically over the past decade and social media is unrelenting in that regard. This guy's career is probably over doing things that were completely acceptable but a few years ago.

I could be easily wrong, but I don’t think Koenning career is going to be over. He openly stood up and openly admitted what he did was wrong, apologized, and took responsibility.

It’s not like he kept trying to deny, deflect, disparage, spin at every opportunity like other coaches.

Who knows though, time will tell I guess.

Thinking about personalities, Blake Sieler has to be on WVU's shortlist. He was on staff there but took the coordinator position at Old Dominion last year. Blake is the antithesis of what Koenning is pictured to be.

So let me get this straight...WVU let the guy go for one instance with one person, along with social media issues? They did an investigation and got it done in less than a month; and agreed on 55% of the remaining salary as severance to preclude legal actions. The coach also apologized immediately and additionally this week to the team, individual, and fans.

Yet another coach, from another team, with a long list of issues over many years, is given 100% of his $1.3 million in salary, the school promises a review, not an investigation, but the review may take many months. No apologies yet from the coach or staff...only talk of a blind spot and how things are so much better.

Hmmm....

No. I'm saying people treat others differently even if it's not directly negative or derogatory manner, and it can absolutely be racist, and many people don't know they're doing it.

I think it's more that you said most people are racist.

This statement right here is a part of what I'm getting at and it's not to do with me or you.

Nice little accusation though.

i think this is where kirk ferentz falls. he's old school and runs a hard knocks style of program. a lot of the accusations i've seen fall more along these lines than racist. but there's certainly been some racist behavior as well.

There was a lot of racial discrimination going on. No doubt he's old school, but you can be old school and not run a program the way he was running his.
