Would you, for science?

Nico Dosenbach, an associate professor of neurology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, got to find out firsthand what happens to the brain when it's on psychedelics. For science, of course.

He got a high dose of psilocybin from his colleagues — what else are friends for? — and as he started tripping, entombed himself in the claustrophobic confines of an MRI machine.

Nope. The only illegal substance I've ever consumed was one joint with my sister, when I was 29. No desire to try it for ANY reason.

Doesn't help that I knew a lot of people with fried brains back in the 60s & 70s.

Haven't people learned enough about psychedelics from the acid tripping, flee bitten, maggot infested, greasy long haired woodstock wing of the boomer generation? Does the name Charles Manson ring any bells?
Flea. Sorry you haven't been able to leave Pig Knuckle Junction since the '70's.

I actually got to do this as a participant at Michigan. It’s an extremely interesting field that could have some major impacts into mental health in the future.

I’m really not into pot and I don’t even drink alcohol (just to show I’m not really a recreational drug user) but I’m coming to believe there is massive potential to treat physical pain and mental illness with psilocybin.

I got more pain relief from an “experiment” like this on a nagging back injury than I got from years of countless specialists and I know that’s not even the key use they’re looking at.

Mushrooms have highly positive effects on most people that use them. Plenty of studies out there about it. Especially helpful for people with depression and PTSD.

Mushrooms are amazing with the right dose and setting. A high dose in an MRI chamber sounds horrifying.
I have always wanted to try it. I am afraid of a bad trip though. Is music good on psilocybin?
