My table saw, other than dados and some odds and ends isn't used very much anymore. The Dewalt track is probably my best investment. Couple it with a squared up miter saw, you can do a good woodworking.

Ive got a cheaper contractor table saw to use but I think I can get by with a track saw for most things. I have a good miter saw and do most of my jointery like that on my router table. Maybe I do go a little more expensive. The router attachment is appealing.
I am in the same boat. I have a ridgid job site table saw. I use cross cut sled, 45 and 22.5 deg sled for most cuts, but in the market for a good track saw. I use the hell out of my router and jointer for most of my jointery.
I'm very much an amateur at woodworking and building stuff. I tackled building built-in bookcases for my wife earlier this year. Happy with how it turned out, even if I can notice about a million imperfections.
Can’t believe I didn’t know about this thread prior. Here’s my basement bar that I finished back in November. Overall very happy with how it turned out, but as with all projects there’s a few things I would do differently.

I actually used poplar stained to look like barn board. The top is maple finished with an amber shellac.
Here is my latest project. Not sure why I can’t get them rotated correctly.

They are pipe clamps. I use Pony brand but any will work. Just make sure you get the ones with the discs brake as shown in orange, not the pressure foot ones as shown in red. The pressure foot ones will ALWAYS slip.
Well I decided not to go cheap and ended up ordering a cordless Makita with 2 55” powertec tracks. I’m kinda pumped about it.

The rest of my cordless tools are Makita, so it was kind of a no brainer to go with the cordless. The bare cordless saw was also cheaper than the corded.
This thing is the ****. I’m not sure why I didn’t invest in one sooner. I’ve used it a couple times now and it’s flawless. The accuracy, the power, the dust collection, the cordlessness (not a word I know), etc.
The powertec track is great and I’m not sure what more a person could get from spending 60-70 bucks more on the Makita track. The Makita saw fits perfectly. The saw has adjustments to snug it against the track as well as lock it in. The track is dead straight and came with some excess rubber to cut off so it lines up exactly with the blade.

I see this stuff and I got to keep telling myself no new power tools for another 18 months and I’ll have the last of my student loans paid off.
Had the garage door open tonight and started to finish a red oak bowl I roughed out this winter. This thing moved a crazy amount drying out. It was like 5/8 of an inch out of round.
