You can beat this. Admitting that you have a problem is the most important step. Now it is time to fix the issue. Empty you house of all alcohol. Be determined not to buy anymore. Think of the money that you will save.

Updating based on another poster's question today...

9+ years sober. It's easy now but it was hard then. Especially socially more than the physical aspect of drinking. But as you age you realize more people DONT drink than do drink.
Thank you for coming back and posting your continued success. It's a fantastic motivator for people to see that it can be done.

I'm at 2 years next month. Never hit a rock bottom, just realized I'm too smart to keep inviting potential problems to derail my life for something so unnecessary. I'm in my 40's and you are 100% correct: drinking is not as prevalent as you age.
