Winter Olympics!!

Would she be taking a spot from another US athlete that could have competed?
She qualified. If she makes a serious attempt it’s her decision and right to go. If she is just going to take a leisurely run as a final go, then she should let the next in line take a shot.

I'm in the same boat, i love the summer games more but I do enjoy events like Hockey. I think it comes down to 2 in reasons.

1) The winter games feels like there is just less overall head to head events. Sure you got hockey, curling, ice skate racing, etc. However, so many events feel like just races against the clock or subjective execution events. Watching a guy do tricks on the halfpipe is cool but it doesn't compare to watching the USA compete in Track relays vs Jamaica.

2) the USA just isn't dominate in the winter games. Sure, parity is nice, but in the summer games it feels like the USA has a chance to win a medal in every event. In the Winter America isn't even the best country. So many events like skiing are dominated by other nations like Norway which takes away my interest in watching them personally.
4 billion Asian badminton fans (and one random Dutch dude) disagree with this statement

It seems like you only see a lot of Winter Olympic sports only in Olympic years while most summer events can be found throughout the year in some form. Like track and field vs skiing.
