Alright, I need a break from the RV mega thread and ranking talk.

I bought my wife a new laptop for Christmas that came with a Lenovo Miix Tablet included. The tablet is driving me crazy and I would happily trade it for a iPad or Android tablet. Curious if anyone else has a Windows tablet and can offer some pointers.

- After all the talk about how horrible it was that Apple didn't include an microSD slot I have to laugh at this Lenovo (and windows). It does have a microSD slot but the only thing you can store on it are pics, music and misc files. All apps you install are forced on to the internal HD. An internal HD that is almost 80% used up by Windows already.

- Bloatware. I can't believe all the extra crap that gets installed left and right on this thing. You install something from the Microsoft store and you get extra crap (browser add ons, search protect, etc)

- The touch screen is also pretty pathetic. Very inaccurate with no zoom function.

I have a Windows 8.1 tablet as well, and while it's cool to have a "full desktop computer" in tablet form, it also is not meant to do it. Battery life is terrible too compared to the iPad. I reach for my iPad whenever I can. I pretty much only use the Windows 8 tablet to quickly play movies I've downloaded onto the SD card or to play Xbox live games.

Can you really not pinch to zoom with the Lenovo? I can on mine.

On some apps, bugs me you can't zoom while on the desktop. Probably where it'd be extremely handy while trying to navigate a folder or click thru something.

Ah, yes - totally agree. Definitely difficult to click on things in desktop mode.

I'm very close to buying a Surface Pro 2 because I do need a flash drive to coordinate with work. Although I do have an iPad, it's difficult transferring a lot of files to Dropbox, or the Cloud.

DId not know the microSD cannot store apps. Arggh, maybe I'm better off just getting an Ultrabook

Sounds like a lemon. Good XMAS gift to move?
