I see those goalposts moving quite a bit in the distance.1 person is an impact to me. Like I said, I'm not arguing the impact is substantial.
You are really not very smart. And I say that as a guy who doesn’t think of himself as very smart most of the time. But you are something.lmao
Programs that win more games, and thus have more hype, sell more tickets. Particularly season tickets
Having two more wins last year, and the corresponding hype, would have made a measurable difference on whether the Baylor game was sold out at the time of CW’s podcast.
JFC, it’s not complicated. Imagine thinking ticket sales the next year are inelastic to the difference between 7 and 9 wins, and the corresponding PR

Ahhhhh thank you for that. I will move on then if that’s the case. Thank you much!FYI FFCy is aka Swarthmore and had another name at some point.
In summary, you're wasting your time.
Ahhhhh thank you for that. I will move on then if that’s the case. Thank you much!
Enjoy your weekend, and hope we get a stress free win.
Nice! Always enjoy your thoughts on here whether I agree or disagree (almost always agree btw). You are level-headed as can be, which I like. And you can actually converse when you disagree. Too many folks on here can’t.Oh, I'll he around here via my phone like usual.
Same thing I said from the start...I see those goalposts moving quite a bit in the distance.
It might not have a great impact, but to say losing those games didn't affect season tickets sales would be ignorant, especially when once of them was the last game of the season. It certainly had an impact. Arguing how great of an impact is a whole other argument.
Love this post. You forgot 4-0 and ranked #16th in the nation. Which would have blown my mind when I was in school.I’d love to go back in time and tell someone:
Iowa State sold out its 61,500-seat stadium to play Baylor. (Yes, 61,500!)
It wasn’t because of season tickets; the rest of the home slate is North Dakota, Arkansas State, UCF, Texas Tech, Cincinnati, and Kansas State.
It wasn’t because of the opponent; Baylor’s 2-3 and was bad last year.
It wasn’t for lack of exposure; it’s a nationally televised night game on FOX. We also were on CBS last month and are on FOX again next week.
And did you know we had some fans b**ching about how it took too long to sell out the stadium?
I bet that last part would be the biggest surprise of all to some fans who lived through much worse times. Enjoy this chapter folks.
I'm over OuT. "Can't leave soon enough!" was how Jamie put it. I agreed. Hope we survive 'em. And we will.In isolation, I'd rather watch us play Texas or Oklahoma, but with the New Big XII, we have a lot better chance of playing for a conference title or a playoff spot. That makes the games a lot more compelling.
Great job Cyclones!!! Let's have a great day!!!
Like many I actually contemplated giving up my seats this year. But I didn’t. The cost is one thing, but since the rvs were moved the tailgate environment isn't the same anymore. Times be a changin'.
Sure has changed. Everybody has their own patch of grass and nobody gets in a snit if you take "Jim's spot" -- because now Jim's spot is actually reserved.
I'm not sure that is fair, there are a lot of fans that have sat in that stadium when only 35,000 were going back in the 90s, they were so hopeful for so many years, hoping that someday, maybe someday Iowa Sate can I have that great special breakthrough season. Something like a conference championship and or a 10 win season. Something Northwestern, Oregon State, Washington State, Purdue, Kansas State, Virginia Tech, Kansas, our rival Iowa etc..has accomplished. After so many years, so many years of on the brink only to be disappointed, some long time fans get discouraged. I'm not saying I agree with giving up, but I understand the frustration. Those people are still fans, and we need all of them we can get, even the kind that get a little discourage and only go to one or two games a year instead of 6.10 people not renewing their season tickets is not an impact it's definitely factored in that there will be "x" amount of people who drop per year and "x" amount of people who will decide they want to step up and buy season tickets who did not previously have them. Also, I'll be an ass and say it.. If you dropped your season tickets for the SOLE REASON we lost to Ohio in the third game of the year and then lost to a solid Memphis team in Memphis in a bowl game, you're not a true fan. Should we have won those games? Certainly. I'm not even going to bother throwing in an excuse. But to base your reasoning on that is incredibly irrational and fair weathered.
I bet you the number of people who did that is incredibly small. Now, those who've stated they didn't renew due to other reasons, whether that be lifestyle choice, money, time, etc, that's fine. Those are very reasonable decisions and no one should fault them for choosing to make that decision. I mean, just take a look through this thread and although some are arguing that some people might've chosen to drop them because of those losses, no one here has actually said they have. They've given other solid reasons.
Hell, you remember the ISU fan calling for Campbell's head who went viral on social media? I saw him the first game of the year. Lol
Seems like attendance just made a new milestone (considering the circumstances). Makes me proud. Nothing like being surrounded by 60,000 people who for 3 hours agree with and support each other. And you never see the entire field on TV. And then there is the awesome campus and tailgating. Problem for me is I'm an empty nester, my son lives 300 miles away and has 2 babies of his own, and my significant other has disabilities. Best I can do this year is a single game , single ticket experience.
Perfectly stated. Let’s enjoy it. With the future of college football always in the air, we never know what things will be like for ISU.I’d love to go back in time and tell someone:
