Will the BIG10 Reverse Their Decision?

A week and a half ago, they were eyeing mid January. Now, they're eyeing during Thanksgiving week. I'm preparing them to push it forward once more to mid-October.

Exactly. They'll move it up enough to cram in a season in to ensure they can potentially have a playoff team.

The kicker, and the most important part IMO that you left off either intentionally or not, is that the doctor and hospital don't get kickback money for calling it an influenza death so accuracy on the death wouldn't be compromised. But guess what, they certainly get money for calling it a Covid death. I've had 8 different nurse friends tell me how upsetting it is to them that people come into the hospital for something, die, then get tested AFTER THE FACT and the hospital calls it a Covid death. Heck, LAST WEEK my friend told me she had been dealing with this 27 year old who had cancer for 5 years, but he recently died. They tested him for Covid, he was positive, so the hospital said he died of Covid and not cancer. That's asinine! Why? They need the money.
Pretty much my sister's entire family works in healthcare. My neighbors' daughter and SIL work in healthcare. In none of my conversations about COVID have any of them said anything other than it being a valid concern and bigger issue than the general population realizes. I have never heard a peep about over reporting from anyone actually in healthcare. It is always third hand accounts or stories on social media.

This to me sounds like another instance of the Big X trying to force its will on the other conferences in an attempt to get them to fall into line. This is nothing more than a tactic. "We'll meet you halfway" but we're the ones who had the idea. I hope the other conferences stick to their guns about a September start and keep telling the Big X to kick rocks.

Why do you have to prepare? Are you involved in the process?

They are going to be running into problems with players and teams not prepared for the season if they keep moving it up. I imagine all of the teams realize now they really have to get ready for a season, though.

Nothing about this makes sense. Are they going to try to squeeze 10 games into a 4 week window so they can finish in time for the CFB Playoff/Bowl season? Or are they really that arrogant that they think they should have playoff qualifying teams that have played like 3 or 4 games to everyone else's 10? Option 3, they finish sometime in late February/early March having just finished their conference season. Meanwhile, everyone else finished 2 months ago and they're left with no one else to play and a season that didn't matter except for the athletes with pro aspirations. So many question marks. At this point, just admit you screwed the pooch and plan on starting in September like everyone else.

It will be like classes. MWF games.

They will try to finish as many games as possible and hope to pressure the powers that be into delaying awarding spots in the playoff so they can have a team that played maybe 8 games in the playoff.
