Will the BIG10 Reverse Their Decision?

Antibody tests are not included in the positive case numbers. Antigen tests are not antibody tests.

.

Yeah and that's why I was asking about antigen test availability in the other thread...it's weird that they're only rolling in a few states. That helps find out A LOT of cases out there and efficiently too.

Interesting article

They don't trust The Kim Reaper?
More explanations

Using the states method / this means that the reported positivity number for today is actually the minimum it will be. As data fills in, all the historical numbers will rise. As usual, knowing how the numbers are calculated is a key to understanding their meaning. I am not saying state is wrong, only that past changes are often unnoticed. Gives us a lagging metric due to the delay in results being reported.

Another protest yesterday, this time on Ohio State. Even with plenty of time to get the word out and with many Ohio State forum (Eleven Warriors) members gung-ho about it, only about 100 fans showed up.

The Big will start in November, play 4 games, and then try and get 2 unbeaten teams in the playoffs. Book it.

I think they will have a tough time getting 2 teams in the playoffs. But since big $ are paid to conferences that make the 4 team playoff they will definitely push to get OSU or Penn State in the playoff.

The 4 BCS playoff teams won't be named until around Dec 20, so Big 10 teams would play 4 games by then with a Thanksgiving start.

It would be interesting how the Big10 would schedule. Would they front end OSU and PSU's schedules with 2-3 elite games.

The AD and coaches can talk all they want.

It is the chancellors/presidents making the final decision. And they are have Covid benchmarks that will influence their decisions (transmission rates, testing, accuracy). There are 11 states for the 14 teams. CDC recommendation is like a transmission rate of 5%. The state of Iowa is 10%.

Yeah, I remember a couple of one loss teams not getting in the playoff "because they lacked a 13th data point". So it would now be okay to have only played 40-50% of the games as the rest of the teams?

I guarantee the Big10 would make its case based on the money. And I am sure they will point out the unique nature of the season.

Why else start in Nov. They could play 10 weeks from Jan 2 to Mar 6.

The Big10 leadership has a lot of egg on their face with athlete families, so using their political power to get OSU or PSU in the playoff would be a huge coup.

There’s no guarantee anybody else will have played any more than four by that point though. Maybe that is what the b1g is gambling on.

Glad to see that B1G fans aren't yelling about how it was for player safety.

I predict that will change. They're very good at plugging their narratives.
Yes, I've heard almost no Big Ten fans ripping the the ACC, SEC and Big 12 for playing. They pretty unanimously all think they should be playing too.

The B1G isn’t playing until January at the earliest if they play at all. There’s no P3 playoff talk for them.

Is the neutral site dome theory still in play?

I've never heard that.

I suppose with 14 teams you could find enough domes to make it work...perhaps two games/day at one dome or something. Maybe 3.
