Will Breece be traded?

Personally I am happy Breece didn't go to the Chiefs. I like cheering for teams ISU guys are on but I am not cheering for the Chiefs.

That's awesome. Outside of Philly with Barkley last year show me Super Bowl champions that have had top tier running backs over the last 10 years. You act like this is 1995 or something.

The 49ers with CMC the year before.
The biggest weakness of 2022 Eagles was not having a great RB, which they fixed with Barkley and immediately won after
2021 Cincy has Pro Bowler Joe Mixon.
2018 Rams had a huge season from Todd Gurley.
2016 Falcons had a solid season from Devonta Freeman.
Seattle's run for a while had major help from Beast Mode.

You're right, it's not 1995, but complete teams still win titles in either time period. RBs help. Outside of Barkley none of them are elite. Gurley wasn't spectacular the year they won. If you look at how Veach does things it doesn't make sense to offer higher than a 4. Id have done a 4 and 6 maybe but no way am I giving higher than that. I like the TE's in this draft so I'm spending my 3rd rounder on that

It's a shame Breece hasn't hit the 1K mark, but bad usage and coaching will do that. He broke 1500 rush+rec. in 2023. It's very obvious to anyone paying attention that the elite upside is there, but it's all wasted on the Jets.

Andy Reid isn't running the ball. He doesn't do that. They may mix in a little play action but that's about it. It doesn't matter who their backs are.

JFC he's got 3 rings and been to 5 Super Bowls in the last 8 years. The times things havent worked for them the O-line has been hurt. Im pretty sure he's got a handle on his personel and what he wants to do

Maybe you'd have 5 rings with an actual rushing threat. Sure worked out for Philly last season, apparently playing "1995 football".

Again, I'm perfectly fine with KC not taking Breece. I get it. Saying it's because Breece is a bad player as an absurd take by any measure. He's easily a top-10 and probably top-5 RB in the league. Pacheco and Hunt are, what, 20+ and back?

It's not a talent issue (although it could be a "coach actually using this guy" issue for Reid, I get that. He kinda did that during his time in Philly also), it's a "paying for an elite RB next year" issue. Teams did not pass on him at the deadline because he sucks. Completely the opposite reason.

The homers on this board are smarter than the GM who has 3 rings and 6 straight AFC title game appearances. And no GM in this league is offering the Jets higher than 4 for Breece Hall and they suck tooi I guess. I'm of the opinion that when KC decides they want to run the ball they don't have much of a problem doing it. I feel like they need draft picks considering who's going to walk this year so they have no reason to offer higher than a 4 for Breece Hall. He needs to go to the Steelers. They pay for RB's and defensive players. Its a perfect situation for him. In 2025 I think you pay for QBs, Tackles, and dominant defensive lineman. You draft well and then you can pay good players low money because they are on their rookie contracts and then you let them walk and do it again.

I agree with a lot of this. You are probably right. The Chiefs made a good reasonable offer, and the Jets wanted more. The Chiefs did what was right for them, long term. But lets not pretend the currently 5-4 (3rd in their division) team just outside the wild card couldn't use a spark. Hall absolutely offers more potential to do something with the 15ish carries he'd get and offers way, way more as a pass catcher. And a 3rd rounder isn't mortgaging the future too much for another playoff run. There are plenty of 'homers' that overvalued ISU pros, I don't think that was happening in this case.

I've been a Chiefs fan since before Steve DeBerg. It is frustrating to sometimes be lumped in with the bandwagon Mahomes fans. It's not much fun being disliked by the rest of the leagues fans. I get why you are defensive sometimes, I am too. But man, there are ways to make your points without being an ass. At this point you're just being baited into it.

They don't need him. Not sure you know that Brett Veach doesn't. They have hit absolute home runs with draft picks in rounds 1-3 under him and they are going to have to let some guys walk this year assuming they will ask for more money. They need the picks. They offered a 4th which is probably about right and the Jets weren't interested Breece should go to the Steelers or something. It would be a perfect place. Good franchise who still plays old school football and he'll go to the playoffs most of the time. KC isn't the place for him. It would benefit him or KC. Maybe San Francisco could pick him up. Then you could make an all Iowa State team in the NFL. I'm much more focused on balancing talent with needs while thinking about the current and future cap situation.

Not true at all, here is the draft

2025. Simmons 1st was a steal but also hurt in college, Lott at #2 showed promise but blew out a knee, #3 Gillotte and Williams are not playing a lot.

2024. Worthy at one was hit, #2 Suatataia failed as a tackle and has played better at guard, #3 Wiley has been ok

2023. Uzomah at one has been a miss, hurt and not effective, #2 Rice will be a star, Morris at #3 is finally playing, but will go back to the bench after Simmons is back.

2022. #1. McDuffie is an all Pro, #1. Karlafits will be an all pro, but #2 Moore was a washout, #3 Chanel has been a very good player.

So while good picks, it been hit and miss in the top three rounds, either very good, they should be as a high draft pick or a complete bust. Granted the Chiefs are drafting late in the round for each pick, but giving up the 90th pick for Hall would not be overpaying.

We all hated the Patriots dynasty so I get how the Chiefs are getting that now. The funny thing is the beginning of this run pretty much overlaps with the end of the Pats dynasty. The entire country outside of New England was rooting for the Chiefs in the 2018 AFC championship game, and playoff Brady is still the one thorn in Mahomes side.

Deadeye your take on Breece is so wrong. He would have immediately made this team poised for another Super Bowl run. With The Chiefs standing pat at the trade deadline, I’m not sure they even make the playoffs. Denver has been winning all the close one score games like the Chiefs did last year. Next weeks game is about as must win as it gets, Breece has that home run ability the rest of the RB room lacks and is a weapon as a receiver. Selfishly as a chiefs/cyclone fan I want him on my team. I hope they sign him in the off-season, it’s a match made in heaven as others have already stated.

Chiefs could definitely have used Breece. I don't understand the value being so tight between a third and fourth rounder. They should have went to a third and grabbed him. Would have been much better for Breece too. Chiefs are plenty good enough to win the super bowl without him but I'm confused why they didn't make the move.

Fun fact: Chiefs drafted Clyde Edwards-Hellaire at the end of the first round in 2020. This was 9 picks before the Colts drafted a RB in the second round named Jonathon Taylor.

Because they don't think he's that big of an upgrade. As I've mentioned before, KC doesn't have problems running the ball when they want to. As far as the pick go nobody has drafted as well as they have the last 5 years. They are going to have to let some guys walk this year so they intend on drafting their replacements. Hall would have been a huge upgrade over what the team has, do I think they can get a better player in the 3rd round than him in the draft, no, I don't. Hall was hurt by playing for the Jets and is going to be a free agent after the season. Overall he is a top 10 back in the league, hard to ignore that fact and what he would have provided for the Chiefs.
