He should be able to play major minutes Year 1.

Great addition in any era. But even bigger right now in which we need freshmen that can compete against teams with older players

I don't know anything about bball, or talent evaluation, or what IT is but this kid appears to have IT.
"The "It Factor" is that mysterious, magical quality some people have that makes everyone go, "Wow, they're amazing!" It’s like they sprinkled a secret seasoning of charisma, confidence, and coolness on themselves that no one else can quite replicate. Essentially, it's the difference between someone walking into a room and everyone yawning versus someone walking in and everyone suddenly forgetting how to act normal. "The It Factor" is what makes someone more than just the cake—it’s the frosting, the sprinkles, and the candle all rolled into one."

I'm here all night incase someone needs clarification.

I think our recruiting strategy may be changing. Total guess though.
We were intentionally recruiting guys that couldn’t play for us before?

We’ll see if the rotation strategy changes, but our high school recruiting is benefiting from our success, and from more programs focusing on the portal

No. Going guard- heavy lineups.

Our high school recruiting has always been guard/wing heavy under TJ. Which makes sense, given how difficult it is for young bigs to make an impact

Pleta is not really a high school guy, so it’ll be Omaha and Rock, hopefully Pearson, as high school bigs over 5 classes?

I hope he’s good enough to get time on the court. Seems like they hit the portal otherwise.
Barkley said during the tournament that he advises kids to go where they can get immediate playing time, because it's a waste of their college years to sit on a bench if they can be playing somewhere. He's probably not the only one giving that advice.

I suspect Wiggins is good enough to get time on a court somewhere in one of the prominent BB leagues (Big Ten, Big 12, SEC, or ACC), or at a school that can pay big NIL to a couple of players. Which means if he isn't getting some consistent playing time at ISU next year (unless he is one of those rare kids with a long-term outlook or going to college primarily to get a degree), he will be in the portal in 11 months.

People are overracting to the highschool recruiting stuff. We had a top 5 preseason roster with a LOADED backcourt. Even with that being the case, Indrusaitis had several opportunities early in the year to show he belonged (including several minutes in a top 5 showdown with Auburn).

Im not a talent evaluator, but Wiggins looks like a superior recruit to Indrusaitis. Just my opinion, spare me the attacks from the Indrusaitis supporters. Id be extremely surprised if Wiggins isnt a major contributor as a freshman.

Adapt or die. All the blue bloods want to turn over 90% of their roster every year and pay top dollar for the best transfers? Ok, we will start taking better and better highschool recruits and revert back to building with 3-4 year high level 4 star players.

Good info. And here I thought IT stood for information technology.

The flaw in that plan is the $ to retain those top players (though probably lower than purchase new) might still be outside our pay grade.

Retaining players less than buying players from the open market.

I think the formula needs to be similar to what we may see this year. Retain 3-4 high level players. Hit on 1-2 transfers. Hit on 1-2 freshman.
