According to NFL Mock Draft, he is a projected 4th rounder. Probably worth sitting out for honestly.
And he got the crap kicked out of him injury wise this year so he needs to heal before combine.
I would be surprised if he is not close to that. The kid really covers a lot of ground in a hurry.
As far as opting out or sitting out, the kid was out there during the season fighting through his injury, so not going to bag on him for sitting out the bowl game when he has a good chance at getting drafted. Besides, LBer play was not the reason ISU lost yesterday.
was it AJ Klein or Knott that played through a shoulder separation? Multiple games.
Same reason why I was never going to ***** about Hall sitting this game out. Would I have preferred they played? Of course. But both have given enough to us and have proven enough and now it's time for them to get paid.
Knott ended playing middle of the season because of a shoulder injury. He could have played through it but made a career decision mid season. I actually heard this from a parent of a player on the team who sat in front of me. The parent knew going in that it was going to be Knotts last game as a Cyclone. I think it was against Baylor.
Don't those at least have limited snaps like would only play a couple of series?

Think both statements are actually right. He played injured all year and chose to shut it down to start recovering.
And as someone else mentioned, whatever Mike's reasons were are good enough for me. I shudder to think what his senior year could've been because even being hurt most of the year, he was better than 99% of the LBS I saw. Absolute Cyclone legend!
