Hate to shatter dreams but for those of you who do not watch Gameday the picker will NOT be:
1. A college wrestling coach
2. A backup (or group of backup) NBA players
3. A retired football coach who no ones knows.

Bob Stoops could be an option espn would go for. Iowa grad, big 12 coach, well known. Espn loves Bob
Maybe bring in Ozzy Osbourne. He did bite the head off a bat in Des Moines.
I'm going to throw out a different idea than the usuals from this thread.
What about Cy?
He's big for our brand, kids love him, adults love him. If there is a student mascot that is really good at non-verbal communication why not throw him out there? He can write in the picks then obviously pick himself for the W. If Corso picks Cy he can play off of matching head gear and it would be an epic picture.

Is it any surprise that the same fanbase that thinks Dan Gable is such a needle moving celebrity that ISU has to use him is the same one that think Gameday is only coming to Ames because they so desperately wanted to get the #19 team in the country that they would travel anywhere?
See that is the thing. I don't think ESPN gives a rip about what we think. They would rather have a Bob Stoops type than have Monte the second string point guard. Which sucks BTW

I’d be fine with Mac, but how is his health these days? I remember he was very close to going blind (he wears sunglasses at all times now) and didn’t he have a stroke recently?

First and foremost, this is the country's introduction to our great university and our team.
The rivalry story will get plenty of air time, but it's secondary in significance of GameDay being at Iowa State.
