The hardest part is when a family member (mostly my in-laws) asks an individual tax question and I have no answer.

I respond with:

If you purchase a business and need help in calculating the allocation of purchase price to component 1 vs. component 2 tax goodwill for purposes of calculating opening balance sheet deferred tax assets / liabilities under ASC 740…. let me know

We use Anderson and Larkin out of Ottumwa, started using them a few years ago when we set up our trust. Figured it would be worth a few extra dollars to get everything right, after the passing of my mother and stayed with them. No complaints.

The way things are going with the federal govt, I'm half tempted to file as cheap as possible and just throw some numbers in there. Will there be anyone left to give a crap if a nobody like me is not 100% accurate?
