Here's the one I get frustrated with Manning.... he can do it.
We go tempo. We throw it out to Rus against Okie State cause they're crashing hard. We put X in the back field. He has the ability....
but for whatever reason - ego or stubborness or whatever - he goes back to what he wants to go rather than calling the game his eyes tell him he needs to call until far too much time has gone by. Its not that he's not capable of doing it because he has at times ....
the reason I think he can upgrade from Manning is because he doesn't seem to be able to counter punch at all.... for almost a half. Its like he gets so stunned when the defense takes away what he wants to do that it takes him a half or more to adjust. That's my biggest frustration with him. Is that he doesn't seem to be fluid in calling plays and how we attack opponents - more like if Plan A doesn't work he has to go into a mini coma to try to find an answer and we struggle until he comes too again.
The good game-good game-terrible game-good game-terrible game 5 game runs is the Manning special. It’s like we never go back to the things that work
Super disappointing to see no tosses to Breece and to see Purdy almost refusing to dump it to possibly the best safety valve threat in CFB and instead forcing weak or bad throws down field. Then of course the one time he checks it down Breece has a sweet catch and run for a TD.
