When does 2023 Conference Schedule come out?

This

This is the last year for them to have USC and UCLA in their conference schedules, right? And we in theory have two more seasons with OuT, although that's subject to change?
Correct, last season for USC & UCLA in Pac 12 and I think this will also be the last year for UT & OU in Big 12. Think they will buy/get out a year early.

Looking ahead to 2023, I didn't see that anyone had discussed what 2022 meant for ISU with regard to next year. Some stats I thought were of interest:

We completed 65% of our passes, 313 / 479; Opponents 59%, 190 / 322
We averaged 108 yards rushing, our opponents 107
We averaged 370 yards offense, our opponents 285.
We converted 42% of 3rd downs, opponents converted 29%
We punted 55 times, opponents 70
We averaged 32 minutes time of possession
We gave up 18 sacks, but got 26 sacks
In the Red Zone, we scored TDs 22/44 times, our opponents 22/32 times
We had 67 penalties for 550 yards, opponents 58 for 500 yards
We lost 7 fumbles, our opponents lost 8
We threw 15 interceptions, our opponents 7

Looking at most of this, one would think we did better than 4-8. We had some punts blocked which they don't show stats for, but that is like another fumble. Overall, I think once again it was turnovers that hurt us a lot. Using shotgun on short-yardage runs also hurt us, we just didn't have the line for that. Considering how good our defense was, I also think it is sad that our rushing yardage was the same as our opponents. Well, now we know where to improve.

Considering that our offense outperformed our opponents offense, when opponents were always facing an elite defense ( cyclone) and our offense did not doesn't really say a whole lot about what our offense was able to accomplish. Even then, stats would suggest that we moved the ball well, but couldn't move when it counted (red zone).

The offense was for the most part OK until reaching the opponents 30. Then we went run, run, incomplete pass, missed FG a lot of the time. Predictable play calling, poor OL, and our top two RB’s being either out or playing hurt didn’t help the performance with that play calling the defense knowing what was likely coming as it was usually the same thing.

I'm just glad we had the balls to fire our OC. Unlike the Ferentz family picnic.

And that includes the year end blow out to TCU

Sure. We can wait longer, nobody minds. Hope we get some news maybe by end of July. I expect something for sure by then.:D

I think the AD's should wake up to a call each Friday morning telling them who/where they will be playing the next day.

It’s been scheduled to come out early Feb since pushed back in December.

I realize some people might be making plans for next fall, so knowing schedule is important. But otherwise is it really a big deal we don't know next falls football schedule in January??

In early January, it was announced it would come out around Feb 1. We'll see what happens.

Saw where Dennis Dodds recently wrote the holdup could be because FOX want some high profile non-con games between OU/UT and current Big12 schools. So maybe we see Bedlam in September or Texas v. Tech games. I am skeptical of that story.

I think the bigger issue is getting teams to approve the schedule. Sounds like there is a process where the Big12 creates a draft schedule and then sends to schools for review and comment on possible issues. There has been conjecture Houston wants to play the Longhorns in Houston before the horns bolt. There also has been conjecture that OU & UT don't want to play certain new members.

Agree, those stats are not those of a 4-8 team.

Special teams and turnovers. Give ISU Iowa's special teams, and break even on turnovers, and this team was 9-3 easily. Winning in the margins, is what I have heard it called...

There has been conjecture that if I were the Big 12 commissioner, I would tell them to stick the schedule so far up their nether-regions that they could taste it.

This is probably one of the many reasons that I am not, in fact, the commissioner.

i mainly just want to know to know because i crave football news.

Since they've already given notice of withdrawal, they shouldn't get a say in any conference business.
Don't disagree, but I also don't feel any school should be given preferential treatment.

Personally, this isn't an emotional issue for me. Of the 2 schools, I have more angst for OU as they go back 100 years with ISU to the Big 6. IMO Texas is just a high priced escort, looking for the biggest score. Don't like what OuT did, but at this point, I am looking forward to a conference with Cincy, BYU, UCF and Houston!

As far as the schedule goes, I hope the Big12 is being neutral in creating a schedule. Create parameters like protected rival games, # of home games (influenced by 2022 # of home games), # of games against the New 4. The schedule shouldn't favor any school AND the schedule shouldn't be punitive against any school, including OU & UT.

My only "must" is that the 4 new teams should each get to play OU and UT at home one time before the departure. Assuming they're still going to be around for 2 more years ('23 and '24), there's plenty of space to make it work.

At this point, if I were the Big 12 office, I'd already have the matchups done and now be scrutinizing other P5 conferences' schedules to find where their potentially ****** weeks are -- then slot the "best" Big 12 games on those weekends to all but guarantee the best network spots.
