In the past the tree has always come down a day or two before the 31st because the family usually starts arriving for NYE on the 30th. We need the space. This year, it will be staying up for a while. No one is coming over, and it brings us joy...so it stays.

Took the tree down today as we are putting new flooring down this week. Everything else stays up. Will turn the outside lights off at the end of the week.

We usually keep them up through the end of the holidays but this year there’s no rush. I like having just the tree lights on when watching tv at night.

Usually the weekend after Christmas to get everything down. I will remove decorations in stages as the week goes on if christmas is early in the week. This year the decorations and lights were off the tree yesterday but I waited til today to take the tree out so the tree could suck up most of the water in the stand.

Giant stocking is still on the wall as I didn't feel like taking it down yet, but 95% of my decorations are packed away. Although they're not in the basement yet.

For anyone who cares the Fraiser Fir is an excellent Christmas Tree. They are a short soft needle and they drop very few needles so clean up is easy. Also, the needles are small enough that they don't cause problems in a vacuum.

ASAP with young kids, the luster wears off quick for them and then it becomes time for them to try to break things. Started Christmas Day after they wenr to bed and finished last night.

Tree still up; outdoor lights still on. Celebrated with our family today. We'll begin taking stuff down after New Year's day.

Normally its the first nice day after New Year. It's still the holidays through New Year. This year we are trying to get the house ready for sale in the next few weeks, so everything got packed up yesterday and stored off site. That was weird.
