What was going on with the camera angles?

Rewatching the highlights, it wasn't just the guy with the pom pom obstructing the views. I've never noticed obstructed shots at Hilton before, not sure if ESPN set the cameras up in a different spot?

The whole country is talking about that one guy with the Pompoms. no idea why they didn't go take them away from him. It was pretty annoying

There's another guy who's head is obstructing the camera. Unless that dude is 8' tall or standing on his seat I have no idea how that happens. Did they not have the cameras up on the normal platforms last night?

Hands and arms have been in the camera view when everyone stands up for a few years now. It's rather annoying as a viewer but I'm not sure what else they can do.

We noticed a lot of obstructions as well. Makes you wonder if the cameras were set lower than normal.

I think they must have had to move the camera off its platform. There's earlier footage of the guy with the hat and he appears more distant in the lower left corner like you'd expect.

I think we were all screaming at Pom Pom guy if we’re being honest with ourselves.

Good to see the respect that game got nationally. The first half of the game is the best played half of basketball I’ve watched two teams play all season.

Can you imagine if that had been the home end getting blocked?

If I had to guess, there was a change with the equipment used by ESPN for the Houston game (and maybe Kansas as well) to give a better quality picture. But the set up was either a couple inches lower than normal or camera lens setup changed the field of view a little. Hilton has always had a kind of tight area for the main cameras to work out of. For those that don't know this is the location of the main camera in Hilton (blue arrow):
