What excuse will EIU come up with?

Whatever it is they'll not want to face the actual truth because it hurts too much. They had the better team on the court tonight. Don't fool yourself into thinking we were even teams. We won this one because of Hilton. Hawk fans won't ever want to identify that as the reason though because they really REALLY hate the idea of Iowa State having something they can't replicate in 100 years. The knowledge that ISU fans are better and our arena is better and they couldn't get there if they wanted to will drive them to insanity.

This game was a lot like the woman's game last night in terms of fouls. Iowa had a lot of calls on them, but when you are wildly swinging at every shot, bodying the guy drive to the basket and contest every rebound you are going to get a lot of fouls. Lucky they didn't get called for more. ISU didn't get a shot off inside the 3 point arch where someone from Iowa was not bumping of smacking them.

Exactly. Plus iowa has depth... they know they can afford more fouls individually... so they play more aggressive D inside, and get more fouls called on them... whereas we avoid the foul inside (as we cant afford the fouls individually) which means giving up more baskets.

I learned last year that "scoreboards" supposedly don't matter.
Point me to the post that I said that. Waiting for your video of tonight's gsme.

By the way Dean, just to **** you off, I just checked all 33 games from the last three days. 13 of those times, the home team got called for more fouls, and 3 more times were the number of fouls called for both sides even. More than I thought...if you count from "even or worse", it's 48.5% of games. If not, then it's 39.4%.

I think it would be interesting to look at this year versus other years to see if it's increased since they're now kind of whistle happy with the new rules.

It's called a rivalry. You don't think this was Iowa's Superbowl? Sure, they play Indiana, Ohio St, and Mich St, but we play Kansas, Texas and the Pokes as well. It's a rivalry, plain and simple.

If the Hawks win a tourney game while we get dunked on every 1.4 seconds in the NIT title game, scoreboard for this game won't matter. Until then, it does.

Dude, live in the now, not last year......

The only excuse they need is their coach got out coached in the last 4 mins of the game.

Scoreboard is the correct answer. Summary of the game. ISU played pretty good. Iowa played pretty good. ISU won the game at home. end of story.
Good bye.
