What do you collect?

Became a homeowner last year, Home Depot receipts. It's 10 minutes from my house so easy to be lazy and forget something when I have something to work on and not really care about going back. I think my record is 6 trips in 1 day.

I've been collecting vintage electronics for a while now. 70's/80's HIFI gear. It's a fun little hobby but prices just keep going up! My wife really doesn't understand why I have so many speakers and turntables.

I used to collect 70s-90s video games and consoles. Sold it all around '02, some if it at a decent profit. Entire collection would be worth 5-10x as much now. I can't believe the demand keeps going up. One particular game I bought new for $50 in '98 now sells for around $1300, I sold it in '02 for $150. About 50 others I sold in $10-50 range now sell around $3-500. Consoles don't skyrocket like games but it is harder and harder to find working condition.

I have trimmed down all my collections as the years go on. More about trimming down and keeping what I really like than adding on. Have about 200 of my favorite comics, down from probably 500. About 100 of my favorite movies on...laserdisc...down from maybe 400. Laserdisc is opposite of video games, the movies can be cheap but working high end players are expensive and weigh a ton, probably a lot like your hifi hobby. If you see one you can PM me to know if it's worth $$$.

I collect the original 1977-1985 Kenner Star Wars figures, ships, creatures, etc. Anybody else have a cool collection?

JK.

I have dialed them back a LOT lately but collected Vintage Pepsi items and Pottery. Before that and still kind of active in music - vinyl, CD, paraphernia 1950's-1980s; thus my being a contributor to the weekly On That Note post.

I got in a quick phase during college of collecting vinyl. I probably have approaching 100 "classic" albums. I never really spent much on them because this is before vinyl came back.
15-20 years ago scored numerous Zeppelin, Stones, Beatles for almost nothing off of ebay.

Coins, specifically coin roll hunting, and precious metals.

COVID has really slowed the process down due to closures and coin shortages but I'm still trudging on. Amazing what you can still find in circulation. I've found over 310 silver half dollars this year alone.

Rocks & arrowheads that I find. Matchbook covers from business that are gone in my hometown.
I collect rocks also. They appear every year in my fields and get to go pick them up.
Ugh, my wife has a masters in teaching earth science so I've lugged more boxes of rocks than I care to admit. Every time we've moved she'd add a handful of rocks from that house to her specimen collection.

I like to save all of the bottle caps from all of the beers I drink. I've made a couple tables with the caps on top, and plan to do more projects.
