What did McKay d this time?

I think he's resting his knee and prohm is staying silent to not hurt his post career basketball chances. If he was in trouble I think prohm would have said it. If he was hurt though this late in the year, I'm not sure he would indicate that to other teams to cause them to attack McKay more.

There is a method to the madness here.

People on CF continue to repeat that it's Steve Prohm's program and he says he's "building a program", which evidently justifies his actions in his mind. No and No. It's not your program CSP, you're simply a well-compensated custodian of a program that was already well-established long before you arrived. The program belongs to the university and the fans!

In this thread, I'm seeing people comment that Coach K, Pitino and Izzo wouldn't comment regarding a "coach's decision". Are you really comparing Steve Prohm to these three giants of the game? He hasn't even remotely earned that right.

In conclusion, I'm not throwing Steve Prohm under the bus and I'm hopeful his tenure at ISU will be lengthy and successful. Having said that, he obviously doesn't have all the answers and has underachieved with THIS team to this point in the season. He doesn't get a free pass and is answerable to the stockholders...

ICCYFAN, I guess many others have pointed out that it really is Prohm's program; his job rests on how well the team does. And if you watch him during games, you can tell he is very well aware that the MBB team belongs to ISU and the fans. And he gets reminded of this fact over and over, I am sure. But it is his program in the sense that he is fully responsible for its performance and its results.

I am getting really, really tired of itinerant - and even regular - posters referring to Prohm's team as "under-performing." Please help me to understand compared to what? Yes, there were high expectations for this team at the start of the season, and rightfully so. But, when Naz went down and then it became clear that for whatever reason, McKay was not going to repeat as B12 Defensive Player of the Year - or even come close - people seemed to hold the same expectations. That is the biggest disappointment to me - not the record of this team - but that unreasonable fans think that without Naz and with a hugely under performing McKay, this team would keep the same expectations. That makes no sense at all.

What I love about this team is the emergence of Matty T into a great 2-way player, the great offensive display of Nader, the development of Burton as the season has progressed, the consistency of our PG - one of the best in the nation - and the opportunity to see a true AA in Niang. I want this team to do really well, but more for the seniors than for me; I'd love to see Niang go out on a high, meaning a deep run in the T'ment. For what he has given to ISU, I do not see any fan hoping for less for Georges.

Aliens..... has anyone considered the possibility that JM was abducted by Aliens? Think about it, would coach wanna play him if he was probed?
That could really throw a guy off.
I ain't saying, I'm just saying...

I miss no-drama Hoiberg. Disciplinary actions were always handled quickly and effectively. This is going on way too long, and obviously Prohm and McKay are not able to resolve the situation.

Wut? If Hoiberg were here, McKay wouldn't even be facing any disciplinary action. Guys could do whatever they wanted when Fred was here.

Did Hoiberg ever answer why BDJ didn't play in the 2nd half against UAB? I don't remember him having to explain that? Did Hoiberg ever come out and say... "yeah BDJ was being a jerk at halftime yelling at coaches, so we sat him"? I don't remember it if he did. He just swept it under the rug, but didn't have to explain it.

Fred not being a disciplinarian cost us that UAB for sure. No doubt in my mind. But yet, you're saying Fred was such a good disciplinarian? Uhhhh no.

Don't know the reason but McKay is Still In the DOGHOUSE................

Only the cool kids know the reason and being really cool they only share with other cool kids. I do not know the reason. I can't even sit at the cool kids table.

I just got to the bottom of why he didn't play. I'm not going to post, but I'm pretty sure if we had played Kansas yesterday he would have played. I'd be pretty shocked if he didn't play Monday.

Oh look!! Yet another "insider" who claims to know something based on something he read on Twitter or some other message board, but in reality doesn't know ----! Here's to you, internet insider!!

And altercations/drama....they were often handled by the assistants. Don't even get me started.

So you think you're entitled to know. I don't, just tune in Monday night and you'll have your next answer. You don't even have to wait very long.
Oh ok. Thx. Love guys who get this way over an opinion. So yours is right and mine is wrong? Got it. Why have a press conference if you choose what to answer?

I'm not a fan of the "I know but won't say" posts but Wallen probably does actually know. In reality though, why does it really matter why he sat? He did and it's over. People love gossip I guess.

Go look through my post history. I've posted insider stuff for 3 or 4 years. This I don't find particularly appropriate to post, on Mckays behalf.

Not sure what's up at Iowa State but Jameel McKay was dressed for TCU game but was DNP. Getting late in season to "send messages."

Maybe too late to send messages, but its the right time for a make or break moment for Jameel. Either he buys in or the team moves on without him. Better to do this than have it be like BDJ, where it festered and blew up vs UAB (allegedly).

Based on how McKay and the rest of the team appeared to act last night it seems like it was something minor that the coach and team seemed fine with keeping it internal.

I will laugh my *** off if it turns out...

Prohm said hey, your knee has been sore, we can beat this team without you. Let's take this night off and not tell anyone why just to **** with people. It will be epic.

I would too, just by how much the local media members have been whining on Twitter

you are nuts. This team and its 4 NCAA wins in a dozen years or so is a powerhouse and our fans are entitled to a final four this year. We've had four years of talent always playing hard, no players causing off the court problems, overachievement, off the charts defensive effort, and absolutely zero locker room cancers allowed to fester and blow up at the worst time possible. Now prohm has come in and burned our hoops utopia to the ground.

Fred was awesome here, but the revisionist history on here is mind boggling.

How quickly people forget one of Fred's risks blew up in his face at the worst possible time. I mean, it was almost a whole year ago.
