What are you reading?

Finished Dark Matter by Blake Crouch, it was fun, first book I’ve read in awhile. Working through Pet Semetery now.

I absolutely loved Dark Matter. It's in my top 10 for sure. Recursion and the Pines trilogy are almost as good if you like Crouch.

Pet Semetery is my favorite King/Bachman book. What do you think of it I so far? I am currently on a mission to read his entire collection in release order. I am about 15+ books into it and reading IT right now

I'm not that far in but I like it, I took a break to read The Anthropocene Reviewed by John Green that I had from the library, which was also really good.

Backstory: My 11 yr old's first exposure to science fiction was Children of Time by Adrian Tchaikovsky. For Christmas he bought 2 copies of the sequel Children of Ruin so we could book club it together. It was a great experience.

His birthday is coming up, so I thought it would be cool to see if I could get one of the copies autographed by the author. So I went to his webpage and reached out asking if I could ship a copy with a return shipment slip to see if he would sign it. He emailed back saying he didn't like handing out his address but he'd send a copy of another one of his books that he had some author copies of.

It was just delivered this afternoon!!! I was doubtful it would come as the author is in the UK. The new book is Alien Clay if anyone was wondering.

This Is How You Lose The Time War is going to be tough to beat for Top 3 books of the year. I could not put it down. Science fiction told in a unique way of letters being passed from one character to another. I teach English, so strong writing, imagery, all that stuff speaks to me. Clever, fun, beautiful at times. I saw it recommended and didn't know what to expect; however, I was not disappointed!

How High We Go In the Dark is another fantastic read, albeit very heavy and emotional at times. Yet, through it all, there's a feeling of hope.

I loved the Children of Time trilogy. I thought the first one was the best. @Cyientist - that's a cool story and will make for a wonderful memory for you and him!

Currently reading the Jack Reacher series. I'm a little over halfway through. Very good books.

This week I picked up my first paper book since high school (about 20 years). Needed a break from the nightly phone BS and all that. Just trying to make better use of my time.

I’m working my way through Under the Banner of Heaven by Krakauer.

Read 11/22/63 at the end of last year, it was long as **** but it was as good as advertised. Going to hop into The Demon of Unrest by Erik Larson next.
