We're number 9!

A win next week would help a lot of things. Fan support being a big one, because next years team will be better. We'll see by how much, but could very well be a bowl contender again.

Good to be able to finish in a single digit position!

And at the expense of the Rock Chalks. Hate those ******!!!! A good Segway to BB season!!

yeah we need to win next week and gain some confidence and hopefully that will spring board us into next season. We still need to learn how to have the winners mentality or get the refs to call a fair game. That Texas game really changed the season for us, plus the TCU out of bounds phantom no call.

But we are Iowa State!

If we can manage to beat WVU we would possibly be a couple bad calls (against Texas and TCU) and a debacle (UNI) away from a bowl game. Or, for that matter, throw in a completed miracle comeback against Iowa or Texas Tech. That doesn't bother me too much though. Bowl games when you're 6-6 are overrated to me. I'm so in to basketball by the time it comes around that I don't even re-engage until a day or two before the game. Bowl season needs to be closer to the regular season.

All of the talk about how we might be the worst team in ISU history its hard to really put this team near there. A few bounces and this team goes bowling. Sure, the Baylor loss was crazy... um... that's about it.

CPR's goal for this team was to finish in the upper half of the Big 12. Other than the obvious 'injuries' excuse, it will be interesting to see what CPR decides on Dec. 1 regarding how much coaching played a part in not reaching the department's goal.

As minor side note-- who was CPR glaring at when Sam went in for the 3rd down play and immediately called a time out because he no clue what play he was supposed to run?

This team was also "only a few bounces" from being blown out by Texas Tech and Iowa, and convincingly losing to UNI. We were manhandled for the most part of those games and thanks to lucky bounces and turnovers, we kept it to single digits.

The Texas game was a near win, I'll agree, but the others we were lucky to just be close at the end, not the other way around of us being unlucky to not win.
