YESCome on guys. Let’s try to keep this thread on track… Do we like the tertiary blue or not?

49'ers copied the gold from ISU when we beat the cyclones back in the dayWait, I thought this thread was about using 49er gold, or was that ND gold.
I thought the use of the script Cyclones and Punching Cy the last couple weeks has been great. Along with the jersey combo's used. Hope they keep all 3 logos in rotation.
I like the walking Cy logo and have a few clothing items with it. But feel like it would be a little clownish on football helmet.
Walking is for suckers, real men travel exclusively via tornado.
Get a Silk Bag from the Graveyard Duck to live longerWhat a terrible night for a curse...
But black is neutral. Any team can include black because it goes with everything. The blue was overused and made us look like we were imitating Kansas. I went to buy my son an Iowa State coat back in the day and they didn't have ANY cardinal or gold, only blue. Blue is a primary color and was never considered part of our color scheme.A Cardinal bird has a black mask. The dark Navy was selected to prevent having "black" become a core color. Tertiary navy blue - when used correctly - was awesome. I absolutely loved it's use from 1995 - ~2002. When we transitioned to Nike, it became total dogsh*t, as Nike didn't have a dark Navy color, so it turned into half ass blue
The Criner/Walden/McCarney era unis were all the worst ever in ISU history and nothing should be carried over from those including all logos (which were red, not Cardinal). How hard is it to just put the tornado logo on it from the 80s. That's our best logo ever.
Or...they could be updated, like the script Cyclones. The Orrnado by itself (no "Iowa State" on it) is a perfect logo for a helmet or a basketball court or whatever. The Criner/Walden/McCarney era unis were all the worst ever in ISU history and nothing should be carried over from those including all logos (which were red, not Cardinal).
The Pumped Fisted Cardinal Cynado helmet logo used vs KU was a carry over logo for a reason. It looks good and doesn't have the grossly outdated lettering/fonts from those Criner/Walden/McCarney unis. I am surprised it wasn't previously used on a white helmet by a CMC team.
And for those who want to wear Red (not Cardinal) logos and attire from the Criner/Walden/McCarney eras and stick out like a sore thumb, go for it.
Pumped Fisted CyNado > "CriNado" by a mile.Or...they could be updated, like the script Cyclones. The Orrnado by itself (no "Iowa State" on it) is a perfect logo for a helmet or a basketball court or whatever.
CyNado is a mess...too much detail to be a "great" logo. The OrrNado is simple and clean and easily scaled up or down.Pumped Fisted CyNado > "CriNado" by a mile.
Calling that logo an "OrrNado" is an insult to Johnny Orr whose BB teams never used it.
I liked some of our uniforms under Walden. I agree that cardinal would be better so just swap red for cardinal. We need gold pants as part of our combo imo. The 80s tornado logo is the absolute best ISU logo ever. I like the tornado alone though. Keep the "Iowa State" off the top of it.The Criner/Walden/McCarney era unis were all the worst ever in ISU history and nothing should be carried over from those including all logos (which were red, not Cardinal).

EDIT: I am also cool with the Cyclones helmet script which I forgot was used on Walden era helmets. But only use them going forward on Cardinal helmets with the White script and use the Pumped Fisted CyNado going forward on White helmets.
